Hi Bob

Yes I have the white box as well, thought it was something wrong in my installation. For the fuel load buttons, I don't think I have this pb, will verify next time

Pascal

Thanks for confirming that,  that's with Prepar3D 4.4,

Sorted, you need the fuel truck hitched up, the white box over the  Gross Weight Counter button is still present.

I see the same.

I like the new throttle response very much - definitely easier to trim them precisely in cruise to maintain a desired Mach.

Although I've never flown the DA50, I've flown plenty of different jets, all with hydraulic flaps, and I'd be stunned if you could actually hear the flap drive mechanism from the cockpit while in flight. Like shocked.

What about on the ground, when for example you are setting takeoff flaps while taxing out to the runway?  Or when retracting flaps after landing? I'm just wondering if we should have different flaps moving sounds for in the air and on the ground?

Nope. Not a peep.

Well, I guess that just goes to show you what the difference is between sitting in the Exit Row of an AA B737 and in the cockpit of a Lear35!!     😁

And the best part...you're probably just as close to the Lear 35's flap actuator sitting in the cockpit as you are to the 737's actuator sitting in the exit row 🙂

You might hear it, in the cockpit, but is quite faint. Probably more audible on the ground than in flight. Definitely can hear it in the center cabin, as the drive motor is under the floor (but outside of the pressure vessel) in the space between the gear wells. The real sound is definitely not as loud as in previous versions of the FSW Falcon, and the slats make no discernable noise at all unless you were standing outside of the airplane in front of the wing.

So, fellow FSW faithful, after reading the above posts on flap sounds (or the lack thereof) by those who have been there (one way or the other) and have the relevant RW experience to really know, as a fellow simmer I'm curious to see if you  prefer "the silence of flap realism" or not in the VC?   Note that I've been told the existing flap handle sound in the VC is realistic.

My vote is for silence of flap realism 😉

Thanks

Sounds do really add to the immersion even if at times there not 100% accurate, so I wouldn't object to having a faint flap sound.

Question, if I took the previous flap sounds from v1.7 and toned them down and added to the sound folder would that work or are they coded in the interior MDL?

Cheers

Martin

Sorry, gotta vote for the RW realism (no sound) EXCEPT for the flap handle itself.  I don't feel I will miss it.

Hats off to FSW for creating an environment where aircraft technical experts, simmers, and developers get together and contribute to a dialogue aimed at making the product the best it can be.

As another data point, I loaded a B737 by a developer very well know for realism into FSX and moved the flaps. Other than the flap handle sound itself I could not discern any flap sound in the VC. If I went outside by the wings, I could hear flap sounds. For the record, I was unable to sit in the Exit Row to compare flap sounds to my admittedly limited RW jet experience in this regard!  🙄 **

Al

** Actually, I have had the good fortune to sit in the cockpit of both a Learjet 25 and a Citation CJ4.  In both cases, however, the aircraft was completely shut down and I was careful not to touch anything!  I'm only about 5'9'' tall, but in both aircraft I found just getting myself into the left seat without breaking anything (by kicking the throttles, etc) was a bit of an awkward challenge. 🙂
