whats your first payware A/C?

Featured Replies

its early and we don't know what payware aircraft will be available but assuming the same aircraft will be available like the aircraft in FSX what are you going to buy first?

I'll be looking for a single or twin-turboprop like a C235, Twin Otter, or PC-12 that I can use to get into small unprepared fields in far flung places.

There wasnt much point in exploring North or Central Africa in FSX, because the scenery was so terrible. But it looks like even stock MSFS will be worth exploring.

The default TBM and C208 will be nice stand-ins until the 3rd parties catch up.

I suspect it will be the first Dev that releases one, what ever it is.

Without knowing what aircraft will be available out of the box, and what payware will show up and how soon after MSFS launch, that's a hard question to answer.

I flew FSX for 4 years before I bought my first payware aircraft.

I like bush planes and radial engines and steam gauges.  I'm less interested in generic modern GA aircraft and jet airliners.  This is what will drive any decisions I make.

Depending on what offerings we have...

A bush plane, preferably a Super Cub with tundra tires, skis, floats. 🤑
later on a Waco, an 172 or 182, a Bonanza, a twin, preferably a Baron 58, a Quest Kodiak, an Aero Commander and a private Jet.

Hope a Stearman 75, an Icon I5 and a Vans are included in the initial offering.

Time, is the one thing no one can buy.

Hopefully the default ac will be so awesome/complete, it will take developers to much higher levels than we have ever seen.

I liked the Maule a lot myself. 🙂  The Cub was pretty good too.

No, I'm going to go with the Abacus A380.  Why not go big 😆

Why would i want to buy something i can already enjoy elsewhere?

Nonono, i want new things to try. And since so far we haven't seen helicopters, that's exactly what i would most likely buy first.

Chock 1.1: "The only thing that whines louder than a jet engine is a flight simmer."

i like the Coronado PC12 and Epic a E1000 with sky-view like from Aerobask but as you know they only make aircraft for XP11 but you never know

I hope for real traffic, an a deep simulation Airbus.

But I think, I have to wait a year more after release.

the new flight simulator is going to be the super money maker for payware designers because the new high tech modern flight simulation is not only sparking interest from new simmers but veterans that stop using other simulators years ago due to stalled progress and outdated flight simulators, with that in mind i think designers like PMDG might already be working with Microsoft and aircraft will be leaving the hangers within about six months from the release of MS flight simulator, just speculation

Yeah, not to drag the discussion off topic, but I think it would be difficult for 3PDs such as PMDG to pass up the opportunity to be a part of what MS is building here. I know there are concerns about how the ecosystem will be monetized and such, but I don't see PMDG and other high-end studios sitting this out.

So I wouldnt be surprised in the slightest to learn that big-name and indie studios alike are already working with MS to have content ready at or soon after release.

Notable devs have been AWFULLY quiet despite ongoing revelations. I mean, PMDG has NOTHING to say about the stuff we've been seeing recently? Color me suspicious.

I wonder what surprised are in store for the Partner Feature Announcement Series?
