You were the reason why I finally found how much happiness and immersion I could get from WT 🙂 While - of course - I am happy about the energy that FS2020 will bring to the civil flightsim community, pushing the competition fwd, and bringing users a new reason to dedicate to this interesting hobby, truth is, an that's really the truth, my interest for these sims dropped so so much when I started enjoying, first DCS World and IL-2 GB and now even much more War Thunder that I really look at any developments in the MS, XP or other civil flight platforms at most as a curious observer. BTW: WT is as easy to uninstall / reinstall as XP, but I only did that twice to move it to better disks... 🙂 I LOVE WT! Maybe you as called it FS2020, instead of what Microsoft calls it, you were not invited to join the alpha.. Robin "Onward & Upward" ... To the Stars, & Beyond...

"why wasn't I selected" ... let me go find out something in common with 10 people that were selected, oh they had 32GB of RAM or more, that MUST be it, therefore EVERYONE must need 32GB of RAM or more and urban legend is born. It seems to be encoded in human DNA. Except that there have been only two reported cases with users that have less than 32GB RAM getting selected for the alpha, and far more than ten for those with 32GB or more. Of course this is not going to be a requirement for all the alpha builds, but for the first one it's obvious they were looking for systems with high RAM capacities.

Or it's just the type of people they selected that have an inat need to have the best. Lol. That's more like what happened. I know how people are that like to flaunt their multi TB servers with $39,000 cockpits in here. Lol
October 26, 20196 yr Of course, you all know that W10 sees your IP address and forward it to the mothership and that anybody whining not to have been taken in Alpha 1 will be systematically barred for further testings. Just sayin'. But, pray continue ! October 26, 20196 yr Could it be that Tech Alpha 1 is more about testing the infrastructure (i.e the server) than the actual software? After all MSFS2020 can be the best thing since sliced bread but if they don't have the infrastucture to match then it may as well be a stale loaf. Therefore I wonder if the reason we are seeing more reports of high end machine owners getting selected is because this will put a huge demand on the infrastucture and enable ASOS and MS to pick up and correct faults early on meaning they can then spend more time focusing on bugs later on. Only two reports from a massively unrepresentative group, yes...

I think he was referring to the group of people who are reporting as unrepresentative. We don't have a known, closed pool of participants to report whether they have been selected and what their systems are.

October 26, 20196 yr these days I see 16gb as minimum rather than optimum, not enough ram and slow storage can hinder performance if its not up to par, but its not like a GPU upgrade that directly, and predictably, has an impact on performance. But i would say VRAM is more important.
