November 23, 20196 yr Since Asobo can't visit every place on earth and people will be getting Alpha access in the near future I think it would be helpful to list some places you are wondering whether they will render correctly or not. For example, The Royal Gorge in Colorado: https://binged.it/2sbCUON Even on the highest zoom level there is quite a bit of distortion on two buildings. I am guessing because of the excessive slope. Having been there these buildings are right on the edge of the Canyon. I am curious how the AI and its building rendering will handle these structures and the very steep canyon. Will be a very curious place for someone to fly over once they have access to the sim. Do you have any other places in your local areas or links to locations that you have found funky satellite images that you are curious how they will look?
November 23, 20196 yr I'm quite curious about Latin America, as we haven't seen many screenshots of there. Mexico in particular. Mexico City only has 2D imagery on Bing and many of the buildings are at an odd perspective, so I wonder if the AI will be able to sort out and represent the buildings adequately. I also wonder if certain landmarks will be present, like the Latin America tower. Cancun would be another interesting place to see, and it would also be interesting to see how the AI handles places like slums and whatnot.
November 23, 20196 yr Author Any links to exact areas? We know there are plenty of “general” areas and continents (Africa, Antarctica) that everyone is curious about but I am thinking of specific places that would be interesting based on what satellite data is showing and might be troubling for the AI that can be specifically referenced.
November 23, 20196 yr I would like to see some iconic cities (to me) from the south side of the globe. Cities like: Rio de Janeiro, Cape Town, Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Johannesburg, Cairo and many others. Would be nice to see how the system put their nice geography + their highly dense cities. 9800X3D@H150i // Msi RTX 5090 Trio OC // 64GB DDR5 6000mhz CL30 // 2TB + 1TB Nvme Dell 27" 2127DGF - 1440p - Gsync - 165hz Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick Airbus // TCA Quadrant Airbus // TFRP T.Flight Rudder Pedals // Logitech Flight Multi Panel

November 23, 20196 yr The first thing I will do in Alpha testing is visit towns in South Africa, Australia, Asia, new Zealand etc. Will be checking for clouds in the Ortho and the level of resolution and scenery detail. http://youtube.com/c/Greazer
November 23, 20196 yr Alpha 1 will almost certainly have limited locations/aircraft etc. But basically locations will look as detailed and as accurate as the Bing map data is for that region
November 24, 20196 yr Road and railroad tunnels. And taxiway bridges, where those exist Sloping runways. Will all of them be as smooth as the Courcheval shots? In early trailer videos, the sloping runways at Seattle (KSEA) were visible, and it was not pretty. I assume its early WIP, but we're talking about 40,000+ airports, so hopefully whatever automated processes they're using doesn't need a lot of hand holding.

Considering that ortho4xp, a tool developed for free by a single (french!) guy in his spare time, can already do beautiful smoothly sloped and wavy runways automatically where you can even set the level of smoothing you prefer (pictures included as proof) i wouldn't doubt for a moment that a big professional dev team with a ton of funding wouldn't be able to do it.
November 24, 20196 yr I wonder how steep mountains will look like, especially iconic ones such as the ones shown below. I’m aware the MSFS’s mesh is much better than Bing’s and thus the shapes of the mountains will be much more accurate in the sim. I thought a comparison would be interesting nonetheless. i9-11900K, RTX 4090, 32 GB ram, Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo, TCA Airbus sidestick and quadrant, Reverb G2
November 24, 20196 yr Man-made structures. Mesoamerican pyramids and Asian pyramid temples: Hydroelectric dams: The Great Wall of China: I'd be interested to see if these are modelled or either accidentally misrepresented by Azure AI modelling or ignored altogether. November 24, 20196 yr searching for this kind scenery at the whole globe, can you imagine how long you will be entertainied. Nice times ahead!
