Uh no. The default streaming resolution was lowered. One can still select 4K as a resolution, but the bitrate has been lowered:

MSFS server do not stream video to user's PC. It works a completely differential from Netflix video services. MSFS sever sending only a scenery data to user's PC, not a video! For maximum quality of scenery (including 4K resolution) it only needs around 10Mbps stream.

All the rendering is done locally so it won't be affected that way. Perhaps the LOD will be artificially limited but that is all that could really be affected.

The worst part is that the shelter in place orders will mean no one's leaving the house, so there will be a ground stop. You can buy the sim but you won't be allowed to fly anything...

Streaming videos of MSFS  is obviously not the game itself.

The game, when eventually released, will be, as we have been told, will be playable in 4k, hopefully.

@jabloomf1230 Was talking about Netflix not the game.  He was pointing out that you can still get 4K Netflix, whereas the first post says you can't and the max resolution is much lower, as low as 480p.

The title of this topic is then confusing.. I read it a few times & it did not indicate that he was talking about Netflix & Youtube, until I read his post.

I'm sure that MSFS will not be using Youtube for their streaming, as they have their own servers. Is it confirmed that MSFS will be 2K? (The WILL seems quite definite)

MSFS2020 will be only 2K in 2020/2021

@Wobbie we will depend on the global internet providers new stream policies, not the video game specs.

That's not how this works.

MSFS2020 isn't a 4K video.

You hope most company's are working remotely bandwidth may be a problem even XCLOUD AZURE may be under heavy load, so loading pre-cache may be affected.

But hopefully we will be back to normal 2021 when MSFS is released.

If most of the world is still living under stay at home orders 6 or 8 months from now streaming MSFS2020 will be the least of your worries.

LOL, Will Avsimmers be calling it FS2021 if MSFS is delayed until next year?
