IF it were moon, it would be make it full moon, That means the sun would be behind the camera/plane. if that was the case, you would see all clouds light up from the back. not from front.  You wouldn't only see light from front.

Uhh what???

Are you claiming, that a full moon, can only exist, if the Sun is over the horizon at the same time, or am I missing something?!

50 other aircraft, nothink more 🙂 I thing, that is not any catastrophe.

Keep in mind that you see the 50 closest aircraft and when you fly with a huge amount of people in the same area then you have every second 50 other planes that are the closest.

The problem with these multiplayer modes is that there is no limit to the amount of people in the same session. If 100 people decide at the same moment to do a landing on one particular runway then you have 100 planes on final and you see 50 of them. If half of those 100 planes is somebody who never flew a flight sim in their life then chances are that you have to land on a runway with 50 crashed planes on it. In the mean time aircraft pop-up at the beginning of the runway that want to start their plane from the runway.

Most likely collision models are off all the time because otherwise you have kamikaze pilots all over the place trying to fly into your aircraft. This takes away a lot of the realism. Especially on the ground where you will be able to taxi right trough other planes. One of the attractiveness of flying a flight-sim is that you emerge yourself in a sort of realistic environment where you control a plane. If you see all kinds of strange things happening like planes that taxi trough each other then you lose that feeling and then you are not in that plane anymore but you are in front of a computer screen being frustrated.

Computer specs: CPU: fast | RAM: enough | GPU: fast | SSD: Pretty fast | Monitor: big | Internet bandwidth: pretty fast | Everything is 3Dfx compatible. 😉

I don't know what some of you guys are complaining about this 50 plane limit. When I set up my ai traffic on p3d that's the amount of planes I choose to avoid a performance loss. Same for events on vatsim like ctp? Having so many ai planes will definitely bring performance down and these new planes in the new sim is way more detailed

There are options to just fly with just some friends or fly on vatsim. There will always be noobs

That is absolutly true. But why would you create an option that you know will lead to complete chaos.

I bet there will be a huge amount of people who actually enjoy the chaos. Some people just want to watch the world burn.

Well, I have to admit that I laughed about the video that B777ER posted. I can imagine that it would be fun for a little while. I wonder however if it is still fun after more then one day.

I noticed in the Development Roadmap that after the Feature Discovery episode #8 IFR (planned for Mid April) they mentions in Early May, there will be a feature discovery series update. How many more before release will you guess we'll get, and what could they be about? AI and Flightplanning would be nice, what would you recommend?

How much chaos are you expecting in a map that is a 1:1 scale of the entire Earth? What are the chances in such a scale that you'll be surrounded by 100 kamkazi pilots all at the same part of the Earth that you happen to also be in?

The chances are high, because most people choose to fly in places they know. So it is either where they live, where they grew up or where they went on holiday, followed by places they heard about.

So unless you happen to live in a region where the population density is very low, you will most definately run into enough people from around your own place of origin, and among them there will be surely more than enough who don't take this serious and are just there to fly as chaotic as possible.

Next, 50 is not closest to you.  50 is the limit, close or far, or whatever.

The video said 50 closest to you.

Well, if you want to fly over Siberia or Niger then I don't expect to much problems. On the other hand, there are only 80 detailed airports by default, so I can imagine that a serious amount of people want to check these airports out. I would not be surprised if millions of people buy this flightsim. If only 10% of these people will check out one of these 80 airports on release day, then we are talking about more then a thousand people.

I expect however that more then 10% of the people will check out these detailed airports. I also expect that some of the 80 detailed airports will be much more popular then others. I would not be surprise if the busiest area will be visited on the release date by more then 10,000 people and you only need a hand full to ruin the experience.

Also some famous landmarks / area's like Manhattan, central London, Dubai or Paris might be hotspots.

Also - Late April, "Save the date - Announcement"

Release date announce/beta perhaps? Hmm.

I'm guessing and hoping that this will be the release date announcement.
