April 9, 20206 yr Author With the recent announcement of Prepar3D v5 coming soon, we wanted to provide an update on Active Sky development and our plans pertaining to this new upcoming simulator version. We have been, and are currently working hard on support for Prepar3D v5. As you know, Prepar3D v5 includes a new optional cloud visualization system using trueSKY. This system brings new technical and integration considerations, and requires further HiFi development that is in the works, but we are not yet able to provide firm time-lines. We anticipate having our first public version ready for beta shortly. Details will be provided on our website soon (https://hifisimtech.com), so please check back. This was from Damian . April 10, 20206 yr I really didn't think that was going to happen given the new clouds. But I am very happy to here that its is. Let hope REX makes an announcement contrary to what I believe too! 😁
April 10, 20206 yr LM said legacy weather engine is still around there by a ckeckbox, I wonder how far does H-Fi got with new engine, as they said "requires further HiFi development that is in the works"

April 10, 20206 yr This is the one update I was most keen on hearing. Excellent news. I can't wait to see what PTA/Tomato, ActiveSky and REX can do with the sky and water.
April 10, 20206 yr A game changer for me has been FFTF Dynamic, I would like to hear from them also. Ramon De Valencia AMD 9950X3D / 64GB DDR5 6000MHz / RTX 5090 / 1200 watt PSU MSFS 2020 and 2024
April 10, 20206 yr Phew, was worried we'd be without a weather engine come release. [MSI MPG X870E Carbon | 9800X3D (PBO +200Mhz / -20 Offset) | Corsair 64GB DDR5 (Custom Timings) | RTX 4090 Founders Edition (Undervolted) | WD SNX 850X 4TB + 4TB | Antec Flux Pro]

April 10, 20206 yr The thing is, I'm not 100% but it seems to me from their announcement that the public beta that will be released for P3Dv5 will not work with trueSKY but with the previous P3Dv4 way of showing weather. Do I understand it wrong? Do I understand it wrong? Yes that's what it sounds like. There is a selectable option in V5 to enable TrueSky, so I suspect their progression will be V5 first, TrueSky following. Unfortunately - which actually dampens the release significantly. I was hoping they had been working on TrueSky all along and would have integrated it with the update. Seems like it's quite a big job. Edited April 10, 20206 yr by ErichB
