Good to see reports of the "same waves" being false.  Here I see varying sea-states.

Maybe they meant that the waves are same on inland water vs. ocean given the same weather conditions.  If that's the case, I can speak from my experience on the Mississippi River.  It too, can have whitecaps and big waves in a storm.  I've been on it during those conditions -- not a place you want to be in a small boat.   Same with Kentucky Lake/ Lake Barkley / Wappapello Lake / Clearwater Lake.  All very inland, but all quite capable of nasty sea states.  Maybe grandpa's farm pond won't wave up like that, but a lot of other water will.

I'm picking up my new SSD tonight -- hope to install v5 either tonight or tomorrow...haven't had time until now. (!)

Just playing with, learning about...using the settings...and you can have some pretty violent water...as you see here. This was my dip and slide test for the swells..and the aircraft sure did...nothing like v4.5!  This played out as real!  Then..I took off from a high angle lift...and it was fantastic!  I heard through Acc-Feel, the pontoon SLAPPING hard..the tops of the swells..until I cleared then...then the grind of the water shedding off the 'toons...all brought to you by that fabulous A2A  Accu-Feel.  It runs perfectly within v5!

Currently I stay away from port overs and installers not made for v5. Let's see how long I can resist.

Hmm... I may have to check A2A's site for instructions on how to install Accu-Feel into v5.  Or I could wait like @Nemo is doing for a v5 installer....ugghh....resistance is futile....ughh...must...resist...

Here is how you do a fool proof install...

1.  Install A2A's Accu-Feel for P3D4, INTO P3D4.  It will install into the Add-On folder for P3D4.  Look in there...and then merely copy the Accu-Feel folder INTO the Add-On folder for P3D5.  You have just installed it!  The next time you fire up v5.0 it will snif the Add-On Folder for v5 that is in the Documents Folder...see the .xml file...ask you if you want to enable this add-on...Acc-Feel, press yes....and you are good to go. Then..as you add planes to V5...as soon as you load in a plane,  open Accu-Feel and then set all the options for that very plane within Acc-Feels menu(s) and then press Save.  Now..every time you load in that plane, so too, will Accu-Feel load its .cfg for it.  This is an absolute must have for if you want virtual reality seaplane use. It will give you the proper slap of the water against not only the pontoons, but the hull, if that is the kind of seaplane you have.   You can also adjust the water drag acting on the pontoons, if it takes more than real world reasonable thrust from the prop to get you moving forward over the water.  I usually set that at12.   Enjoy!  This is one of the best SLEEPER programs ever made for flight simming!

Looks great!  We both don't need (in the bad vernacular) "no stinkin' Atmos Beta",....no sir, we need performance! 🙂  Looks like you are now having some very serious fun!  I'm waiting for ASN for v5. That's the program I always have used..throughout any 'V's...

Cheers,

Ses

There seems to a problem with PBR aircraft textures which react different than v4.5 and needs to be updated.  It's not working like it should.

This is turning out to be one of the most beautifully rendered flight simulators I have ever owned...
