I am still waiting on my Alienware. It takes Dell a month to build it. As soon as I get it, I will share my first impression. I was wondering about having 3 4K TVs and whether you guys think my system would be able to handle the demand. I have three 40 inch 4K TVs in mind for FS2020. Based on some of the comments and reviews, FS2020 may not be GPU/CPU demanding as the previous hateful three simulators (MSFS X, p3d and X plane). Three monitors would be a terrific experience, especially if this thing is as soon good as it seems.

Evidence suggests it will be a lot less CPU-intensive but also extremely GPU-intensive on the other hand. In the Global Preview event the RTX 2080 Ti could push around 30-40 FPS at 4K, so if you cut the resolution in half, you can expect a similar or slightly lower frame rate with your RTX 2080 Super at 5760x1080. Trying to push 11520x2160 is going to be very unreasonable even with the halo GPUs of the next generation, and might be possible only with some aggressive DLSS or VRS magic.

Sorry, but haters like you are gonna be disappointed (note to mods: hater is not an offense in this case, since Huascar himself admitted considering p3d and XP "hateful").

iOS and Linux are around 40% of desktop XP market share, moreover a lot of LR revenues come from mobile version. And then there are training devices etc.

I'm sorry for you, but XP is not disappearing. 😘

Fortunately, if FS20 is as good as it’s been reported, the need for third party software will be minimum which will be bad for third party vendors ($$$) but will save us a lot of headache. After FS20 is out, I don’t see how P3D, Xplane and all the rest can stay in business.

Hateful is rather strong, my friend 😉. Sims can certainly be aggravating sometimes but I must immediatly add that it is not my experience on the whole with my FSX then P3D  full of OrbX regions, ASN and aircraft mostly from A2A, RealAir, Sibwings, Lotus and Milviz.  And I also add that I refuse to play the snake oil tweaking game. YMMV of course and the release of v5 has been obviously rough for the early adopters.

I very much look forward to FS20 which would be a dream come true  but we (the non alpha testers) don't know yet much except selected pics, some of them very lovely, and the excellent EP videos which show what Asobo aims at. To know whether they will reach their goals is still uncertain. I hope so. A bit premature  IMHO to declare P3D or XP dead in anycase  !

Also, it is my intimate conviction that if FS20 is a success an enormous market will open for addons, sceneries and aircraft and whatnots (trees😄 ?).

Add on scenery for FS20? How is it possible? Can you blend real satellite pictures with a regular orbx add on? How much more scenery can you add to FS20? I do see the opportunity for aircraft add-ons- but scenery, doubtful. For those using X planes, I understand the sim grew on you, but I don’t think you have yet realized the magnitude and revolutionary nature of FS20. I simply don’t see how anyone could switch over to Xplane after flying over Seattle in FS20. Again, we have yet to see it action, but sticking with Xplane after experiencing FS20, would be like preferring a horse over a car as your mode of transportation.

You do realize Seattle is like the most polished area you will ever find in MSFS? Yeah this is not the best choice when planning an area for your addon. However, there will be loads of areas where their AI will struggle due to not having enough data to work with.

There is still plenty of room for scenery add-ons.  For example, to add details where the Asobo AI doesn't depict them well.  Not all cities are photogrammetry and that would be a market, although those cities may be added later by Asobo.

An example would be like the Neuschwanstein castle, which does not exist in FSX/P3D but is available as a download.  This particular example doesn't apply to MSFS as we've already seen pics of the castle there.  But there may be other landmarks that are missing in MSFS.  For the most part, we won't know what they are until we fly there and look.

My guess is that there will be glitches as MSFS has reached for the stars with this super realistic sim, but in all honesty I have suffered a lot with all the previous sims and I am ready for some new. Perhaps my add-ons selection weren’t the best. I would say that at least half of all add ons I have purchased were useless. A waste of money and precious time.

Seattle was a pilot made by Asobo to convince MS to select them as a contractor. Yes, it is rather nice. It had to be because they got the contract !

MS has no monopoly on sat/aerial imagery and it seems that some of its portfolio of licensed images is old or not as sharp as needed in some places. The AI can do amazing things to correct the low res and the blurs but expect to see patches to the default scenery if some imagery vendors accept  to licence their products to 3rdPD.  Orbx or others.

MS has no monopoly on mesh either. So far, I've been moderatly impressed by the mesh we see in some pictures. The market willl offer better mesh if it stays that way.

Landmarks, cityscapes  will also be a good market etc.  Did I say Bangkok where the autogen is all wrong in FS20 ?

Dont make me wrong, I am not dissing  FS20.  I am pretty confident that a new age of simulation is dawning with it. I am also fascinated by the use of AI in building the "Earth's twin" as Wloch put it. And I am kinda proud that they are a French company.  But I find difficult to swallow that everything was Hell until now  (or I was a masochist in my 40 years of simming), and going to be Heaven after FS20 is released. This is a very significant step. The market will reshaped heavily but, for our delights, addons will still  be around.

I think there is no way to run any current "game" in 3x 4k resolution with any current Hardware. You'll need at least way more GPU RAM, the 2080 doesn't have enough. I think even a 2080 TI will struggle. I'd rather suggest a single ultra wide screen. A single 32:9 screen with double HD resolution or 5120 x 1440 will be a much more responsable choice. But I also assume that will reach the usable limit of the RTX 2080 regarding frame rate... the resolution is still higher than 4k.

Btu be aware, I have no experience with MSFS2020... just assuming things in reference to other "games".

I found a great video on FS20 stating "Ok so I finally got some information about the new update of fs20 which is worth sharing with you! In this video I will talk about what's new coming to Fs 20 in the new update! Do we get forestry or front loaders?"

But does it have correctly sized trees? And undulating wheat fields?

I guess we have to wait and see how much of a hit the CPU and GPU will take with MSFS2020. My understanding is that streaming will alleviate some of the pressure off the hardware.

Does anyone know if FS20 will be able to run multi monitor displays?

How can data, coming in at a rate of 6 MByte/s alleviate some of the pressure off the hardware? An average SATA SSD can deliver 500 MByte/s.
