“I love how “launch” is just one point amongst many others in their roadmap.”

Launch is only the beginning! We are building something very special, together.

Thanks for your reply, MSFS Team! Still love your commitment to a long term project and looking forward to be part of it after release!

Btw how anyone can consider this a cynical way to admit the sim will be full of bugs on release is beyond me. Just too much negativity here.

Anyone is me, Ralf 😉.  I thought I made myself clear but lets try again. I do not like that they imply (as they obviously do) that the 10-year continuous development is for bug squashing when it has been presented as the time needed to add major features.  Of course, there will be bugs to correct ! But this is not what Neuman and Wloch meant in their interviews. Btw, what we have seen recently are not small bugs but worryingly incomplete features in the aircraft modeling. Lets wait for the release to pass judgment on the sim but I do not like the way it is presented.

Again, I make a difference between the dev team that we came to admire and the PR team. The Asobo team  sounds true in the trailers. The PR team does not in this update.

I know. I just wish they would have called this release early access. It would make for a much smoother launch if everyone came in with level expectations.

Project of this global size can be never finaly done 🙂 . So if they mark this as early acces, we will never get a final version, because there will still exist many things, which can be improve. Especially the scenery they may will improve indefinitely 🙂 For me is enough, if I will can fly few complete planes on whole Earth with weather working and without significant bugs, which may cause simulation crash 🙂 And I can wait for other functionalities as long, as they need for its good implementation. I really don't want other "Star Citizen" in indefinitely Alpha, where developers don't guarantee nothink, include a basic functionalities and stability. If MSFS will mark as final released version, it means, that developers guarantee, that software is usable in basic functionalities without significant problems.

Agreed, I get your point.

But I wouldn't call it a cynic response. That kind of spoiled my joy of being quoted by them. 😉

Maybe just not post before your first cup of coffee in the morning? 🙂

Thats the key to a satisfying release for me too with an emphasis on « complete planes ». So far some good returns on the 152, not much on others like the TBM, the Caravan, the  Cub and Icon.

Maybe we should all just stop making assumptions, suck it up for the 25 days remaining until launch & then make factual statements after having tried out the SIM. Until then, we're just bickering for no reason, assuming the worst when we have no idea what the release will look like. The pages & pages of ping pong between promoters & detractors is really tiring, for what result in the end?

Well, I enjoy reading what other people see in the updates. It always broadens my own views as well. No need to sugarcoat the opinions for me, I can read them as individuals' personal viewpoints.

You wanna kill this forum 🤣 ?

Seriously why do you think they release updates if not to generate the buzz, as the ole saying goes, there is no such thing as bad or good publicity.

Couldn’t agree more. This is what a forum is all about. Not a database of good practices and facts, but a lively and courteous mess of opinions and arguments.

A aircraft over PY turning without moving ailerons and rudder. The liner behaviour in the air in SFO (not speaking of the abysmal piloting) .  That doesn't mean that the final product will have any of these flaws. But I cannot but observe that on other forums I've read simmers who are not haters, not extremely happy with the aircraft modeling. What do they say on Dutch forums ? The only answer of the update folks being 'we have 10 years to perfect the sim' is not exactly what was to be said to cheer us, is it ?.

Just to be clear I wasn't targetting you Dominique, & I agree that a healthy dose of speculation is fun. My problem is with the members who think they know exactly how the sim will be released. You are right that it can only help Microsoft whether it's good or bad. But for Avsim users, all the arguing is hurting the community as a whole in my opinion of course. I find myself visiting the forums less often because I'm thinking "what's the point of reading tens of pages of the same old arguments..."

Yes, the forum can be repetitive, that comes with the territory I suppose. Don’t expect that discuter le bout de gras sur le zinc (chew the fat in a bistrot, for non French speaking folks) can be otherwise 😏.
