They are not just taking Bing Maps and putting it into the sim that would just look horrible.

The use AI to generate the tiles and autogen this accounts for things like the images not being from the same season or different resolutions.

We have not seen lots of mismatches from all the previews.

I really want the NDA to be lifted. I miss some discussion here at avsim.

I think the alpha NDA will never be lifted. After the 08/18 we will just talk about the released version.

It started with the statement that MS should have made the game early access. But since early access in my opinion is nothing more than a paid Alpha, I see don't see the necessity.
They had an open Alpha, so there was never a need for early access.

I don’t know. Sat photos are almost never taken during snow coverage except when mountains have snow almost year round, so I don’t think it’s much of an issue. 

I haven’t seen any issues with that.

This isn’t complicated. MS wants the project to make money, which is likely the reason for the early release.

They could have had their cake and ate it to by doing a public, paid early access release after the closed alpha (yes, it’s 13000 people, but it’s still closed). By doing a full release now, they will be judged by the standards of a full release

Decades after the launch of FSX and X-Plane, and years after the launch of the various versions of P3D, the list of outstanding issues in the minds of this very finicky audience are as long, if not longer than ever.

Were we honestly expecting all issues to be fixed by the launch date of this sim, to an audience that with a straight face can seriously complain about the width of engine fan blades?

Of course real world pilots are going to be less critical because they are under the NDA and don’t want to get kick out for the Alpha program. That says nothing of what their true opinions they may have on the  flight model until after the release of the sim and they are lifted from the NDA where they can speak more objectively.

Why on earth would real pilots be any more concerned than anyone else about getting kicked out of the alpha?  I'm not following your logic thread there.
