August 6, 20205 yr They don't have to make everything perfect, it's where the third-party developers come in. What they need to provide is a solid foundation for third-party devs to work with, which I think they've managed to do so far, though with it's imperfections.

Wouldn't there even be the advantage of people expecting things to not be perfect when its EA? Or the other way around...if its generally expected that games are supported and fed with updates and content over a long period of thime why are there even EA games? Whats the sense in that? Leaving the money raising aspect aside... Did you see the final build, what will be release on 18.8. or not? If not, the whole thread is useless. Sorry... Edited August 6, 20205 yr by ludekbrno

August 6, 20205 yr In the wider games industry, calling a title ea allows a developer to charge money for what is basically an alpha. For this, I’m not hearing reports that the game won’t run, or has crashes or bsod’s. And it seems to be feature complete, which elevates it past most ea titles. If the autopilot is occasionally dodgy, that doesn’t make it different than default planes in editions past, or even different from fully released 3pd aircraft in many cases.
August 6, 20205 yr Get GamePass if you don't want to pay the full price. Happy with MSFS 🙂 home simming evolved
August 6, 20205 yr I am curious what features are missing? If you are talking about the default aircraft, for me is meh, once a third party aircraft is available, most of us will jump to the new aircraft. If you are talking about AI generated autogen, of course is not going to be perfect at first, there is no a ML model that is perfect from the first iteration, is going to take few iterations until the model mature. What is important for me, is the stability of the sim and CTD which we will know on 18.08. Therefore, my advice is, relax and then we can talk again on 18.08 because is pointless to talk about before release as many of us didn't get the chance to use the sim. I was just thinking about the "what if when...". If this is too much for a forum like this, be it. I just don't get why people tend to feel personally offended when someone complains about something regarding MSFS. If this thread is so utterly useless why even bother to read or even reply? But seeing so many features, functions, things and so on not completely implemented, not working correctly, in need of tweaking and finetuning and whatnot wouldn't it be more appropriate to consider MSFS as an early acces game? I mean come on...buying a product at full price i'd expect at least the implemented features to work at least 99,5% correct. Yes, the Devs have announced MSFS to be a longterm project which is actually good but why not be honest and say it's EA, there's so much work to do...i'd still be happy to pay for MSFS as an EA title. Even more happy than paying full price for a game which won't be complete at release. Think about it...you wouldn't buy any other product knowing there will be important things missing. Anyway i'm looking forward to explore this whole new thing called servicegame but it has definatly got some bitter taste. Best regards and stay safe in these crazy times! I get what you mean here and I understand. Also, I don't think many of us are personal about it. But the idea is, asking these questions now while is not even released, is not going to help much, in fact it will enrich all sort of speculations and theories that have no true merit in them. Let's just wait for it to be released, and then we can really discuss about it. AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 64GB DDR5 6000MHZ RAM, RX7900XT, FreeSync 165hz 1440p display

What the "current state" of MSFS 2020 is will only be known when the first simmer starts up the game. What we've mostly seen up to now are carefully selected and curated bits and pieces. Of course, people are releasing more preview vids that show more and more of the actual game, but what the game actually has to offer will not be known for another two weeks. That said, every flightsim release has been "early access", so nothing new there. Also, folks have different expectations: clearly, some people think that MSFS 2020 will be so word not allowed good, they'll never have to buy another addon again. Come August 18th, there will be howls of dissapointment echoing through these fora. I, on the other hand, have very modest expectations. I see MSFS 2020 as a significant step up, but it's a framework for addon developers to work with. By itself it won't satisfy many simmers for long. Edited August 6, 20205 yr by Ricardo41
