That's the killer, my 1080 works well for but hoping to upgrade as I skipped the 20 series

I would just say this, you will definitely want to get the best you can afford as making it all more lifelike and close to real is the goal.  Not that 10x0 cards are no good, quite the contrary that they are very good but obviously the better the card, the higher you can crank it up and the more frames you can achieve!

I've made a route from Norway to Cape of Good Hope that I'm planning to fly. I am researching various aspects of the trip to keep me busy. I'm looking into airplanes, interesting places along the way, and vlogs from actual people doing similar stuff in real life. I am also "pre-running" the trip in p3d and xp11, but boy... that certainly does NOT help! Both of them look totally antiquated... 😞

Be happy you can fly in 7 days. I will be waiting for the next GPU releases, so I have still wait for at least two more months 😞

In the interim, to pass the time, try watching this channel on youtube. Very educational and if you fly for real, it could well save your life.

Honestly?, I have stopped myself on occasion in the midst of reaching for my hat switch, yes! (then rolling my eyes back in my head, thinking I must be losing it)

I have a 1070! Ultra with an HD or 4k monitor? I have a 4k so I’m assuming I’ll take a significant hit for that.

1920x1080.  I couldn't see any better resolution than that at my age anyway. 🙂
