Hi Steam will let you install games in different hard drives  I prefer the steam version the ms store is a mess. its under settings/downloads steam library folders.

I know, but as far as I recall, Steam creates a folder named: 'steam-library' (or something) and installs all games in that folder.
I want to have my FS folder in the root. (but this is only trivial, I can live with it 😉 )

At least it won't be encrypted, I would also like it in the root folder but I don't think it's possible with steam unfortunately

There is a cashback site offering 7% cashback by ordering through MS, That's £7.70p towards a few beers while taking your first flight

Steam all the way. I've been a Steam user pretty much since Day 1. Never had a problem.

Ideally, I wanted the box collection, But i feel the safest way to go is download.  I am just going to MS Store and then its separate to the rest of my games, Plus i have been having issues playing games on steam since upgrading my PC to windows 10.

Are they maybe games not made for Windows 10, since you just upgraded to Windows 10. Maybe you bought games that required your other Windows version you were running?

I think your correct, They are old games and some i have managed to get working.

I am just hoping that my XFX Radeon RX 570 8GB XXX Graphics Card will be OK to run the game. It states Minimum  Graphics Card, So i will trying , if not i will have to buy another one

You can make a steam folder anywhere, and have multiple steam folders. So you could create a new folder whereever you want for MSFS.

Guys, just remember that the Steam versions for X-plane and DCS are not the same as the version you get from the manufacturer. DCS in particular started out effectively the same, but modules are no longer compatible between the two.

As someone with over 300 steam titles in their library, i’ll probably go for the MS Store version for MSFS. I don’t KNOW that steam will cause compatibility problems now or in the future, but other sims suggest that this can happen.

Being able to play on X-box in the future is a bonus, but not the main reason i’m looking at using the microsoft store (which i’m certainly not a fan of!)

You download with steam only the launcher. The rest, core content, will be downloaded within the launcher to a folder of your choice. It’s absolutely irrelevant which version you get.

Exactly. The Devs confirmed it in their latest podcast.

The Steam version uses the exact same launcher, store, and multiplayer. There is no difference between the versions.

The only possible issue is if steam goes down which it has done sometimes, i have had a steam account for years had FSX:SE and FSW and games.

Why is that an issue?? You can launch Steam in offline mode and launch games in offline mode as well.

🙂

FSW desktop shortcut fired up steam before running , it may be different with MSFS but want to run full streaming not pre-cache and real weather.

PS if i want to link my MSFS to steam i can even though i purchased from my MS account, i have done this with some disc games in the past F1 2015 was on disc but i linked it to my steam catalogue.
