Brilliant!

If they keep getting all the critics and keeping notes of them, as they’ve been doing so far, to implement/fix things, they will succeed.

P.S.: I’m having a lot of installation issues, but still hopeful with the sim.

This sim absolutely brilliant! I mean I never had any CTD on it until now which was my problem when P3Dv5 released, CTD almost always.

Getting back to the negativity, I think the issue with MSFS it represents a new learning curve and departure from the legacy FSX platform, for example totally new UI, new tool bar, new ways of interaction.. Etc which I think it may freaked some people out at first as they were used to FSX, P3D, FS9.. Etc. Even for me at the beginning, I was annoyed and confused many times but I took my time to get myself into it and configure it to my liking, once you pass that stage, the stage of acceptance and embrace the change, this sim is really brilliant.

Pretty sure, the same people who are complaining now, will try it tomorrow and then they will realize "oh actually is not bad".

If your objective enough, theres a whole lot more 'wow thats beautiful' moments than the little things that stand out if you stare at it long enough.  If you set your sites to find every anomaly, theres going to be alot of them. But its in its infancy.  It will mature, and only get better. Unfortunately many dont see the forest for the trees.  Nearly all the negative reviews are based on installation, not on the sim itself.  Go back to P3d, and you will soon find yourself going back to MSFS. Its a pretty strong magnet.

It's a step in the right direction, but the physics of the small planes seem to not go well with their controller setup for the Logitech joystick I have. Maybe better with a Yoke, no idea.

Only 2 main complaints I guess would be the twitchiness (maybe I need to keep editing), and the camera (needs to allow more zoom out).

I'm so new that I'd hate to say too much because I may have some stuff configured incorrectly (possible). Overall, not bad.
One thing I noticed was the clouds were all fringy looking, but then I turned off "Depth of Field" in the graphics, and that seemed to fix it.

They did a great job of modeling Seattle, wow!

Obviously flight simmers are way smarter and patient than most gamers.  We all already know that FS2020 will still be our sim of choice in 5 years.  Of course we will do diligence to get the sim to where we want it whatever it takes.

The big question is whether MS will abandon the franchise in the near future.  So the big question in my mind is do we trust Microsoft to kill off the franchise again.

Personally I doubt it so I'm remaining largely positive today.

I guess it totally depends on the sales volume in the end, they'll only kill it if not enough sales I think.

They mentioned is 10 years project. And based on the traction it got and critic reviews (not steam users reviews), highly unlikely MS will abandon the project. In fact, I am almost very sure, they will use the underlying technology to develop other games as well.

Good thread - also Microsoft did not embark on this project for just FS2020.  Think of all the marketable solutions they could address with this technology.

Did you know that Bill Gates is a Flight Sim enthusiast?

It is not negativity that might kill it, it is sloppy and shoddy work creators and sellers of this product did.

It seems that some people are bent on wanting to cosy up to sims held together with duck tape and wire for the past 20 years and making as though they were some kind of intellectual thinking man's training tool. Absolute nonsense.

MFS is where the future is at for flightsimming.  Not perfect yet, but no sim in the history of flightsimming ever was .  MFS out of the starting blocks,  is orders of magnitude better than anything we have had before in a civilian sim.  The technology is amazing.

Nothing that has been commented on here today has been news to anyone.  We all know it's not an airline ready sim yet. We all knew the autopilot systems are not perfect yet.  What's the point of all of the negativity on Day 1.  Some have even gone as far as to say that Youtubers  duped everyone knowingly, and the gaming press just awarded praise on the sim for no good reason.

Enough with the conspiracies.  Manage your expectations about a Day 1 sim - a ten year project with frequent updates incoming.

The thing is, are they going to take a look at all the complaints and make improvements based on them?

The auto-gen is so amazing, it's truly a breakthrough. Forget finding your house, I may be able to find my bicycle.

Luckily I'm finding some of the smaller planes fly better than others, for other people having "twitchiness" issues, maybe try the Diamond DA-62, a bit less twitchy than some.

It’s a forum, some people like stuff, some people don’t like stuff. They talk about it.

Some of the negative threads are overly dramatic. But so are “desperate to be positive” topics like this one.

At the end of the day, the threads here are going to have close to zero impact on the future of the sim.

Asobo aren't chancers, you can tell they genuinely want to do everything they can to keep improving the sim. Give them a few months.

Plenty seem to be having a blast so clearly the game isn't a broken mess.
