Stutter Fix Confirmed (May Work for You)

Featured Replies

This worked for me and several others on this forum, worth a try…

1) Set TV / Monitor to 30hz

  • Win 10 -> Settings -> Display -> Advanced Display Setting -> Display Adapter Properties

  • If the above does not allow for 30hz, then try ½ refresh rate (if you are at 60hz) in the Nvidia CP / Inspector for the MSFS profile (or global).

2) Set MSFS to Vsync

3) Set MSFS frame limit to 60 (not 30, but 60)

Again, the above steps have worked for several others...

Also, I do have vsync set to "force on" in Nvidia Inspector (MSFS profile), but I am not sure if to matters.

Setting 30 fps in the sim it is a stuttering nightmare.  I set 60 fps within the sim and set my 4k monitor to 30hz and it is very smooth.

Glad this combo worked for you and others.

For me with a large 4k 30Hz monitor, what is working is NO v-sync (frame killer) + frames limited to 30 in NCP.
Everything else causes stutters or fps drop.

Didn't do anything for me, thanks anyway.

As an alternative to setting it in the Sim, try using the nVidia panel (3d Settings) and set the Max FPS to 30 in there.

The in sim setting has problems.

lightingservice.exe 32 bit (ASUS RGB app) in task manager was the sole purpose of my stutters. I believe some apps may be causing conflicts with MSFS. End anything that is not essential and see if that fixes it for you.

Not this 30Hz stuff again...

had the very same thought!

How do I setup Nvidia Inspector with the new FS2020? What profile do I use or how do I browse to get the exe file for it? Thanks!

....here we go with the voodoo fixes.

I found that NOT running the sim at all and just staring at the desktop icon gives me frame rates in the thousands. Try it!

Can we not act like 15 year olds?

Also here I cannot access the sim executable in NI. Actually it's already stopping at the Windows Apps folder where the .exe resides.

Download the latest Nvidia driver. It will show up then

FSX | DCS | X-Plane 11 | MSFS 2020 | IL2:BoX

Favorite aircraft currently: MSFS Savage Cub

This is usually the first thing I always try but only works if you have a fluctuating frame rate above 30 fps without bad frame timings.

Did nothing for me.
