August 21, 20205 yr Quick question: Has anyone figured out how to display something similar to the old SHIFT+Z text on MSFS?
August 21, 20205 yr I think he's probably talking more about Wind Direction. That seems a tad difficult to ascertain on a keystroke without having to ESC to the Weather Screen Menu. Got enough to do on Short Final.

August 21, 20205 yr Author Yes, more interested on the wind reading just for seeing the behavior of the weather model. Plus it's nice to have a general idea of the wind conditions when landing on unprepared fields...

August 21, 20205 yr I dunno - been trying to work it out all day. Had a lot of fun doing so but still, it seems, there is no Keystroke to get the winds on final.
August 21, 20205 yr I miss all the little "power user" functions like this that Asobo has deprecated.

August 21, 20205 yr If you're looking for winds on final, could you use the G1000 function to display windspeed and direction? At the bottom of the G1000 click "PFD", then "Wind", then there are 3 options Option 1 = head/tail and crosswind Option 2 = Wind speed and directional arrow Option 3 = Wind speed and directional degree
August 21, 20205 yr Yup, I can remember being furious at Textron the first time I got in a real Cessna. It was outrageous that they had not put a function in the cockpit to enable me to press shift+z to have all kinds of info appear in the top left of the windscreen in a nice red font; for that matter, there wasn't even a shift key, or a z key in that cockpit anyway, instead they actually expected me to look at the windsock or tune into ATIS or Volmet. August 21, 20205 yr Author I'm more of a round dials guy... Or a full FBW guy, but the FSLabs crew is holding their cards close to their chests, so for the foreseeable future no digital wind representation available without the little Shift+Z combo...
August 21, 20205 yr There's no mute sound key either that 'Q' used to be, I would use that for listening to youtube music videos while flying.
