August 25, 20205 yr I don't remember of FSX/P3D did this, but boats will stop moving if you're in front of them. Edited August 25, 20205 yr by Tuskin38
August 25, 20205 yr The original plan apparently was to get live sea traffic into the sim, similar to the air traffic, via AIS.

I just set my plane down in the water because I was on the phone for a while, and let the sim run with my engine off. Then that boat drove up to me during my phonecall and just sat there close to my plane for half an hour. When I got off the phone, I just turned the Icon around to get a better shot. 😄 So what you are telling us is that you phoned your yacht captain to come pick you up?
August 25, 20205 yr Hopefully the creator of Global Ship Traffic AI, Henrik Nielsen can bring his beautiful ship add on to the upcoming MSFS 2020. On a second thought, it would be awesome to have LIVE AI ship traffic just like we have live AI air traffic. I beileve that's possible because there are online websites where you can track ships out at sea. As someone already said, this will definite come, given MS/Asobo's ambition to simulate the whole living earth. I landed in the Gulf of Mexico in the A5 last night. Tropical storm. And of course the winds were all wrong, and there was no storm-related turbulence, but the waves were large. They towered over my little plane. Unfortunately they had absolutely no impact on the plane. They just kinda ghosted through my cockpit. So, they're apparently visual only, at least for now. August 25, 20205 yr running traffic all at 100 and I definitely remember seeing more cars and ships in FSX at max settings, so yea that's a little annoying given I'm sure this engine could handle more Drew Sikora Staff Blog Founder/Designer, MSE Airports
August 25, 20205 yr I saw a cruise ship going in circles on the Mississippi River near Plaquemine Louisiana.

August 25, 20205 yr I just don't want the dev team to turn into Aces where they got totally lost at the end. The biggest thing we all wanted was improved performance and their answer to that, I'll never forget, was to crow about how they added realistic migratory seasons and trails for the elephants of the African plains..... August 25, 20205 yr Ok I thought I was just crazy. I will try cranking them to 100 I don't need a flotilla but a few boats in harbor would be kinda cool. I think I saw one freighter my whole time but I am at whatever the default high settings were.

When I was doing a lot of sailing in Vehicle Simulator in the Super Yacht Athena (google the yacht, it's quite impressive) I followed the progress of the actual yacht online. There is so much boat traffic that trying to replicate it in MSFS would be basically impossible. But it would be impressive to see certain famous super yachts (Maltese Falcon anyone?) in their real life locations. I'd be interested in a ship you could sail yourself in MSFS. When I saw the harbor in that first video my first thought was, "We can use this." Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
