August 27, 20205 yr Gotcha! Not another whiny thread, just saying I’ve purchased the Hotas Warthog joystick! Fed up of my plastic Saitek yoke, she served me well but this sim deserves more ha 👍 Thomas Derbyshire
August 27, 20205 yr Nice! One question though, why a HOTAS setup and not a different yoke & throttle quadrant? I bought my TM HOTAS X stick because it's a good budget setup (£39 IIRC !!) and I've always used sticks on flight sims.. August 27, 20205 yr I'm certain that's true, but kind of hard to use a yoke from a recliner. I guess I could do a ceiling drop mount, boy that sure would look funny 🙂 AMD 5800x | Nvidia 3080 (12gb) | 64gb ram
August 27, 20205 yr TM Hotas is durable as they get. great purchase! Still using my throttle almost 10 years later (stick is long retired in favor of Jetliner yoke from PFC) EASA PPL SEPL + NQ / CB-IR in progress MSFS24 | X-Plane 12
August 27, 20205 yr Awesome purchase - enjoy! BTW if / when force feedback is supported, I'm hoping this isn't my only option...🤑 https://www.brunner-innovation.swiss/produkt/cls-e-ng-yoke/?lang=de
August 27, 20205 yr Author Well I’m about to convert my garage into a man cave. I didn’t want a yoke in front of me getting the way. I’m looking at something like this so I can get to my desk with a multi monitor setup. Not this exact thing it looks expensive but something similar design wise https://www.monstertech.de/en/product/joystick-hotas-table-mount/ We don’t live in a large house and when my 2nd daughter came along I had to give up the spare room. So for a few years I’ve been simming from the living room TV using a wheel stand pro. I really miss sitting at a desk using a PC so can’t wait for the garage conversion! August 27, 20205 yr Love my TM Warthog... Haven't got a Yoke due to most of my flying being combat sims anyway but may still pick one up when I get some extra $$$...! Chris Camp
August 27, 20205 yr It's one of the best HOTAS you can buy. That is why there is such a crazy premium on them right now, ebay has NIB selling as much as $900. If Thrustmaster permanently discontinues manufacturing of the Warthog due to Covid, the premium will catapult higher. If you need more buttons look at either the Black Hog throttle attachment or the Cougar MFDs. I was eyeing the Black Hog at first because looks cool, but went with the MFDs. September 2, 20205 yr Author Ok so took stock of my warthog joystick today, still waiting on the throttle. I had to pay let’s say....over the odds on eBay because they are sold out everywhere! Only done two quick circuits of Sedona so far in the 172 but OMG what a difference compared to my plastic saitek yoke! Still need to dial the settings in but really happy with the purchase so far 👍 Thomas Derbyshire
September 2, 20205 yr Tell me, as far as actual feel/action of the Warthog stick goes...is it a massive improvement over the old cougar stick?
