September 1, 20205 yr Let's see. The 3090 requires 350 watts by itself. The reference card has a fan that blows out the back right onto my CPU, thus making it run hotter. And even the lowly 3080 costs almost as much by itself as the Dell Alienware (check my sig) that I just bought that came with an RTX 2060. Those that dispose of perfectly fine Snapdragon-based phones every two years as a reflex and those that are always chasing the latest CPU and GPU will jump all over these to replace their "ageing" 2080 TI's, but I won't be upgrading. Nor do I need to. I fly through London with Orbx London Landmarks at the full resolution of my monitor with no framerate issues at all. Have fun though. At least until the RTX 4060 Super renders these obsolete.

I got over that sort of thing in 1994 when Diamond came out with a successor to the Viper. I do think it is hilarious that I managed to retire at 35 and so many others are paycheck to paycheck because they refuse to get off the consumer treadmill. I cut the cable in 1997. As an ex-MSFT employee, I've got nothing to be mad at. 😄 Edited September 1, 20205 yr by SeanMo

September 1, 20205 yr Which one do I want ... a 3090ti or better, of course. Which one can I afford ... a Used 1080ti (which I have already) ie no planned upgrade for me unless or until a lottery win. However, the dream is cheap LOL Tony Tony Chilcott. My System. Motherboard. ASRock Taichi X570 CPU Ryzen 9 3900x (not yet overclocked). RAM 32gb Corsair Vengeance (2x16) 3200mhz. 1 x Gigabyte Aorus GTX1080ti Extreme and a 1200watt PSU. 1 x 1tb SSD 3 x 240BG SSD and 4 x 2TB HDD OS Win 10 Pro 64bit. Simulators ... FS2004/P3Dv4.5/Xplane.DCS/Aeroflyfs2...MSFS to come for sure.
September 2, 20205 yr I want the 3090 for its 24GB of VRAM but not sure if I'll get the founders edition or the ASUS ROG STRIX one. The FE is 12.3 inches in length by 5.4 inches wide. That can't be right. 5.4 inches???? that might not even fit in my case then. I definitely like and prefer the design of the FE and the 12pin over the 3x8pin of the ASUS ROG STRIX. The FE card has 10496 CUDA Cores but the ASUS shows only 5264??? Is that a mistake? ASUS ROG Maximus Hero XII ▪︎ Intel i9-10900K ▪︎ NVIDIA RTX 3090 FE ▪︎ 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro ▪︎ Windows 10 Pro (21H1) ▪︎ Samsung 970 EVO Pro 1TB NVME SSD (OS Drive) ▪︎ Samsung 860 EVO 2TB SATA SSD ▪︎ Seagate 4TB SATA HDD ▪︎ Corsair RMx 850W PSU

Your data for FE seems right. Also 3x8pin? Other AIB vendors are doing 2x8pin right? 2x8pin should be sufficient for 350W TDP. Zicheng Cai
