September 4, 20205 yr Plant City was just released for about $5. That's the type of pricing that we should be paying for small airports. Bigger airports will require significantly more work so devs need t be compensated accordingly. MSFS
September 4, 20205 yr Marketing folks... You set a high price and grab the money from those who are willing to pay full then lowen the price to get those attracted by discount. Nothing new, I don't see why FS2020 scenery should behave different. And St.Tropez looks quite easier to do compared to Bristol. Riccardo Viecca
September 4, 20205 yr Buying airports and scenery is all new to me so i'm just sitting back for now and watching with interest at the different price points etc. What staggers me more is that I now count 20 payware airport releases already, the sim has only been out for less than 3 weeks!

I’m surprised that developers don’t see that the marketplace will Likely function a lot more like the App Store once things settle down (at least the App Store before in-app purchases came along). The market is suddenly huge, so pricing your addon at a painless $2.99 will likely net you a huge volume of sales compared to a $10+ price point.

Welcome to the wonderful world of flight simulator addons. After awhile of reading and observing you'll quickly figure out the companies who aim at high quality and great customer service for a reasonable price and the grifters who put in the minimal amount of effort in the actual scenery, and maximum amount of effort in promoting lego sets like it was handcrafted in Unreal Engine 7 and if you act now you'll get a copy of Half Life 3 if you just purchase their airport for $60! September 4, 20205 yr THAT's a really good price/quality ratio. We should give him an award or something!

I'm not a flight sim developer, but I doubt that anyone can make a living at $2.99. MSFS

That makes 10.000 €/$ ...for that one add-on which is saled for 10 €/$. So every hour less than 500 it took to make is clear profit. Harry Woodrow

If they plan to update it at some point anyway I will not buy the addon. Bristol is my home city. We are currently missing Many landmarks, suspension bridge, Severn bridges to wales etc Asobo will be updating scenery over time - however, it comes down to more of a person al bet about a) IF you think they will be implementing updated maps and scenery + landmarks for Bristol, and b) WHEN they will be doing that. If you live in the area, and spend a lot of time flying in the area, then it would probably be worth it to just buy the add-on - assuming this exorbitant price is fine with you, of course.
September 6, 20205 yr I think the add-on market for MSFS is going to have a bit of a "shaking out" period. You're gonna have a flood of shoddy add-ons that try to capitalize on impule buys, and you're gonna have overpriced add-ons as developers try to sort out what prices make business sense for them in this new market, versus older sims.

For all anyone knows this could be the only Bristol addon we ever see! Have no fear, Orbx released a version not so long ago which I purchased. It's not perfect, but very good and superior to UK2000. So it will only be matter of time before it's released for 2020.
