Seriously, after reading this thread...just going to put MSFS out to pasture, not uninstall it...just forget about for a year. This needs a year...never mind 6 months...and focus back on P3D and XP. Simply enjoy them...anticipate P3D v5.1 and XP 12....and move on. I want to fly...not cry. Let's see where this is, IF it even is still viable...after 12 more months. If Microsoft walks again...it wouldn't even raise an eyebrow... Just hear/read about it...and cut my losses and move on.

I have not installed the Japan update and have not noticed the issue. If those with the issue have installed the Japan update, maybe try uninstalling it? Just a thought... ...jim Nope, did not install the Japan scenery. Bert

September 30, 20205 yr Well, are we all really surprised? That is the cost we all pay for having worldwide coverage, something that can be achieved only by using AI. And we do not have the scenery on our rigs, as such we are simply ultra dependent on what MS/Asobo does (getting obvious in the last few weeks...). - if they adjust the AI generation of buildings, we have to get along with it, as we can do NOTHING... - if they decide to reduce LOD due to server loads, we have to get along with it, as we can do NOTHING... - if they decide to adjust whatever in the depiction of the streamed content, we have to get along with it, as we can do NOTHING... So, maybe some start to realize now that this streaming and AI stuff is not the praised scenery god we were all hoping for? That maybe having a basic world and individual addons improving regional things but at least then staying on our disk and not affected by changes in the core sim is still the better way? The last two patches show one thing very clear: MSFS is 100% depending on the decisions by MS/Asobo. We have no chance to interfere directly, means: - we have no possibility to say no to an update that potentially ruins the whole sim. Either you start the sim and you MUST get the update, or you have no sim... - we have no possibility to say no to an update breaking one of our loved addons. If an update breaks the PMDG plane, we were used to simply not install this update until PMDG has fixed it. This possibilty is gone now... And so on. The worldwide photoground coverage seems to come at a HUGE cost, and people start to realize this now. Personally, I only surprised that it took the majority so long to realize that MSFS is not the holy grail of flightsimming... September 30, 20205 yr Just to clarify; the invasion of the tall black buildings continues everywhere globally regardless of whether you've installed Japan. Small 1/2/3 storey buildings are being rendered as 10 + storey monstrosities. September 30, 20205 yr The game is in a completely bad state right now, it just seems to get worse and worse after each patch, I'm thinking of putting it on the shelf for Christmas and hope it's playable then. September 30, 20205 yr I was about to start an around the world flight with posts on several forums documenting the trip. Not going to bother now, this breaks immersion so much that I may just stop playing the game. It's too bad I bought it on Steam and can't do a charge back without potentially losing my 500 game library. Asobo is not up to this at all.
