My home town in Sweden now have some new monster buildings after the 1.9.3.0 patch. I'm very disappointed and then I opened the VFR map window and wow! CTD! A known new bug. Seems that every patch fixes some bugs and introduces new ones as well.

Saw somewhere else that it might be the Japan update that is causing the tall building issue. I have not installed the Japan update and have not noticed the issue. If those with the issue have installed the Japan update, maybe try uninstalling it?

Just a thought...

I'm having to wonder if Asobo even bothers to fly this thing? I mean, we have 4 and 5 story office buildings on farms. And it's not here and there, it's *everywhere*.

How the (deleted) does that happen?

How do I uninstall the Japan update? I can't find it in the content manager, but there are several airports and challenges listed.

Interesting. I left the patch installing and went to work. I will avoid installing the new japan scenery for a while and see if i still get the tall buildings and LOD issues and VFR map crashes everyone else is reporting.

I thought everyone was forced to install the entire patch which includes the Japan update? So you can uninstall parts of the patch?

The giant buildings make the giant trees look smaller, so it's kind of fixed something

Sorry - my bad 🙃

On my system (Xbox for PC not Steam) it started installing the patch and said if you want the japan update you need to add that from the marketplace.  No idea about the Steam version.

It is in the marketplace, not the content manager.

This has been much discussed in the FS forum. Some users who applied the patch but didn't install the Japan update still have the tall buildings issue. So it's not caused by the Japan update. It may be the case, though, that some building models were changed in order to make the Japan scenery better and they overlooked that those models were prominent elsewhere in the world.

No Japan update here. This is the west coast of Vancouver Island near Tofino. 12-story buildings where Google Maps and Bing show a 1-story motel.

Can I add Southern Vancouver Island to the list?

Looks VERY out of place ☹️

funny you mention it Burt, see my post above of western Vancouver Island.

I hope I'm wrong but it feels like their dumbing down the PC version (weird buildings, LOD issues, draw distance) and gearing up for the Xbox console release.

Kind regards,

Tim

No need to get caught up in the speculation...dumbing down would have meant less custom models not more. The QA processes definitely leave a lot to be desired though. This is agile gone a bit haywire...

I'd actually prefer if the team slowed down the pace of updates to focus on stability and testing between each.
