Tampa/St Pete airports and scenery?

Featured Replies

I'd love to see a detailed KPIE including the Dali Museum building next to the aerodrome.

Dali is near the KSPG airport..KPIE is a horrible mess right now unfortunately....runways that haven’t been long closed are there with approach lights that don’t exist.

KSPG with the Grand Prix. 😀

Years ago I landed at KSPG with the event going on and it was a unique experience.

Maybe a KLAL with the SUN' n FUN' expo. This one is available for XP.

Patience, it'll happen.  The volume of scenery coming out is amazing and it's only a matter of time.  I do agree about FlyTampa.  KTPA should be their first priority, interesting it's not...

Where are you finding so much scenery?

KTPA in default is pretty bad right now.

I mean it looks gorgeous, but I get mesh tears on the active that cause structural damage when I take off or land.

Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.
The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.

There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you.
It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

With all the construction KTPA has had is the past few years would be nice to have a updated version of the airport.

KTPA was at one point my home field. From my parents driveway if i catch all green lights i can be in at 11 mins or less .

I started off wanting what I had before concerning major airport scenery but considering the airline environment isn't fully realized in FS2020 I can wait.  I hate pulling up to gates with fantasy liveries and limited aircraft models (CRJ, ERJ, EJets, etc).  For now major airport scenery developers can take their time to get it right frame rate wise because until PMDG, Ultimate Traffic, Captainsim, Qualitywings, and something to resemble Flight Deck Companion there's no need of me to fly to the majors.  I keep it Corporate and GA at this time.

I've been thinking the same thing.  If anything, I think the regionals would be more interesting right now...and that's been a long time coming.

Are people actually buying scenery and airports for FS2020? I can't recall any airport that I visited that wasn't wonderfully rendered. Granted there may be obscure airports out there that may not have everything, but look at what their doing now. Japan has been completely revamped, detailed airports and scenery. Asobo and MS are going to continually develop this platform and update scenery and airports and regions.

Can't understand why anyone would spend a dime more than what your already paid for the software. I guess there is a sucker born every minute.

Aircraft on the other hand? Different story, but it's also possible they may flesh out the stock aircraft over the years ... stay tuned.

Agree so far.  The only payware scenery I have snagged is the Drzewiecki design Washington landmarks. It contains a few enhanced airports in the DC area including Reagan National and Dulles.

There's plenty of freeware mods for MSFS to satisfy any appetite. Enjoy your freeware!

I'm a sucker for quality payware.

I fondly remember a stay at the La Quinta Inn at Tampa Airport in 2015, where I had too many beers and as a result was convinced that Danny Trejo is hiding in the closet.
