That's it!!! - I'm staying with MSFS

Featured Replies

I don't care. I've tried a bunch of things to make it go wrong and it refuses to CTD on me!!!! I'm outraged that I haven't had ANY problems with this Sim. It looks and feels like a real aeroplane - it's incredible and as a result - I'm far from happy!!!

Message to ASOBO - where are my CTDs, where are my Random Freezes, Random AP Inputs and overall horror experiences? Um - Pourquoi pas moi?

It's running majestically on a slightly modest system and I've only CTD'd once (with the VFR current patch mistake)  - in over 60 hours of flight time. How dare it do that!!!

I've flown VFR, IFR and everyFR and the aircraft just seem to work ok -they need a lot of work but they're flyable and that's all I need at this stage in the builds in this revolutionary Sim.

The Hangar is just too good! I can sit looking at aircraft in that for hours with a beer admiring and I'm STILL NOT DONE GOING; "Wow, Blimey, Incredible, How did they do that? etc, etc.

People left, right and centre doing the sensible thing - leaving, but I'm not. It's too bl**dy brilliant.

I've got nothing to complain about it whatsoever - it's killing me!!! Why can't I have a hissy fit?

So, for now, I'm staying with MSFS so don't try and talk me out of it!

So there! 😉

I had landed at LAX and park somewhere where i can see the traffic parking and exiting the airport and spent 3 or 4 beers just looking at all the traffic feels a heck of alot more real then ever . And the BEST PART is that this is all from stock MSFS2020 and not something you had to pay for extra .

Absolutely, it does that kind of thing far too well. I was passing overhead at Barajas earlier today and something took off and went up past me. It looked incredible - so smooth - unlike the stop/go old stuff in the other sims.

You'll make the P3D boys mad. LOL.

I still want a proper AI traffic package and AI sound add on so I can sit back and do some plane spotting while hearing those roar of those giant GE-90's from planes like the 777 that will shake my entire house!

Oh, that'll come. Don't worry - that'll come.

We are in the infancy of this sim. It kind of does what it says it should do - providing you don't mess with it - and can give a superb experience of virtual flight.

A few years from now?  Woohoo! a few years from now. . .

You know, it's possible to fly and enjoy MSFS, P3D and XPlane for what they are.  None are "EOL" either, by the way.

I feel for those who can't see the forest for the trees in this release, even w/ its troubles.  I'm shocked when I fly the TBM into rather obscure (to me) airports and find really very decent buildings, aprons, taxiways and lighting, in rural areas in wherever--Idaho was a recent stop, then Bend, OR after that and the vegetation was so spot on--the tall sage scrub or whatever it is looked so familiar as I had ridden my motorcycle thru there a couple years ago.  I really have enjoyed the (new) ability to land somewhere w/ live weather, shut the plane down and come back an hour or two later, and create a new flight plan within the MFD's flight planner.  Then, that communicates w/ ATC correctly for this next flight plan.   Very cool to fly the approaches in, so far all done perfectly in the MFD's flight planner as desired.  I'm liking ATC not doing the herringbone zig zag approaches that happens in P3D.  I know they need to get the correct altitude changes, for example when you're coming in over mountains you will be prompted to descend to X, then 15 seconds later a different X, and again a different X.  These should be easy to resolve when they get there.

I also have XPlane installed. You don't understand my comment. Every time someone throws their toys the P3D boys come in and explain how they are better. Plenty of trolls here...

On the contrary, I think I understood it quite well.

When I opted to deploy MSFS I got a new SSD and put vanilla Win 10 on there and then MSFS. I retained my FSX/ P3D SSD so I could hot swap the two SSDs before system boot - just in case MSFS had been overhyped.

Since installing the MSFS SSD I have yet to boot the FSX/ P3D SSD. . .
