I don't know what is going on with your community folder guys, but I have the MS Store version, installed in default location on my C drive, and I have no problems whatsoever copying into / out of my community folder. I can copy, paste and delete anything into and out of my community folder. The first thing I do if a problem is rearing its head, is move everything out of the community folder into what I call a 'holding' folder on my desktop. I also do this before a patch/update.

Do you all with this problem have the sim installed in a custom location perhaps? It does sound very strange!

Ummm... not knowing better, I initially assumed that I could move addons in and out of this folder as I wanted them active or not..

That appears not to be case.  😉

MS Store install here, and the community folder, for me at least, behaves exactly the same as any other folder on the computer. Usually slide folder from Community to desktop whenever i want to test, uninstall or just reoganise mods. MSFS is on the same SSD as the desktop (the OS), so maybe thats why?

I used the Windows / Settings / Apps method to "move" the MSFS app to its own SSD early on.  It is all located in a bunch of Windows generated folders.

This is what happens if I try to drag a folder out of the Community folder, onto the desktop

I wonder if that could be the issue right there!

Wouldn't be surprised if others with this issue also have the sim in a custom location, or actually moved the location after install.

Could be... I can Move folders, but not Copy them, I believe.

On reflection, how dare MSFS dictate to me what I can or can't do on MY computer! It's a plot I tell you.

Yep, pretty sure the problem lies there, and there is no real workaround except, aparently, using a 3rd party explorer, like explorer++.

I have the Steam version with MSFS Official/Community on a drive L:/. I didn't have any issues with moving some sceneries back and forth from/into the community folder. Now I didn't try all of them but those I tried worked.

Actually, an easier workaround, althought a bit cheeky. You could delete the folder you want to move, then go to the Bin/trashcan, and move it from there.

Nice try.. but that still does not accomplish the "copy" function.. 😉

I have the community folder in a custom location and have no issues

I used the same method to move the store app but my Community folder doesn't sit in the same place. I merely pointed the main install to a pre-created MFS folder elsewhere and the Community and Official folders sit beneath the MFS folder and NOT in the same location as the MFS store app. I have no issues copying folders from the Community folder to another area.  Depending on your download speed it may be worth doing the same as as I did.
