word not allowed that is beautiful! I absolutely love these 3rd party landmark and poi scenery addons! I really hope they do more. Especially in cities like Hong Kong, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Bangkok, Taipei, Manila, Melbourne, Auckland, Honolulu, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Seoul, Busan, Tokyo, etc.

None of the boats seem to move. I even cranked up the wind and the sailboats didn't move. Don't we have any boats that move?

Yes I definitely saw a small boat moving in the sim.  It even had a wake.

Bought it.

I spotted where the ABC is on Harris St using the drone camera-even though the building is more of a generic model and not a custom modelled one and the Harbour Bridge modelling is so stunning-unreal!

Impressed by the improvements to night lighting-especially to the Opera House

what's the differenece?

Buying direct -

- the dev gets the full profit rather than Microsoft getting a 30% cut

- the updates are managed by the devs addon manager which can meean you get them earlier

- the addon does nor showup as "owned" in the marketplace so you cannot rate it and could accidently buy it twice

using marketplace

- it shows up as "owned" allowing you to rate it and preventing buy twice errors

- the marketplacce handles updates

- ms get a 30% cut

Doesn't look good at all. Grainy, dull and washed out.  Look at the marina in the last shot, the boats and the houses. Looks flat like someone pounded them with a hammer.

Wow. I'm going to buy this

Bought it as well and I think it looks great. 15 years ago, I spent some time in Sydney and the first thing I did was visiting some of the places I remember. It‘s all there, the cafe in The Rocks where I had a coffee first thing when I arrived, the house I stayed in; my school and even the bar where I had far too many beers on the first night out have correct custom-made textures. Really gave me nostalgia.

I am pretty sure those bits are identical to the default scenery, which for Sydney is 2D in Bing maps. The addon will just be improving points of interest and significant bridges and buildings for the most part.

Some of those landmarks are already available as separate freeware (and the Crown building is downright ugly and I would pay to remove it )  and yes it is also possible a future MS official update to Oceania might make this update a bit redundant.

So is it worth it ? if you fly Sydney a lot and do not want to mess with a batch of separate freeware updates possibly. Otherwise maybe not.

I will probably get it.

That's laziness. It says 9 months in development and they could not address those things that it took you a second to point out. I'll wait for their sale.

So they're just plopping buildings onto the default scenery? That doesn't make any sense. It's like putting truffels on a spam sandwich.
