DD just released RJAA Tokyo Narita P3D

Recommended Posts

From the Facebook post it doesn't look like RJTT will be released anytime soon for P3D because it's already included in MSFS2020. It's in works, just not a priority which I can understand. If I know this ahead of time I wouldn't have purchased RJAA so quickly for P3D as I still had the WC version to hold me over. So if you were like me and thinking RJTT was close, think again.

RJTT is included in default MSFS so it is definitely a lower priority project now. P3D has a lower priority right now indeed, more efforts go to MSFS. Anyway, our RJTT is under construction too, just not a top priority.

So, that is the fourth scenery developer officially on the record prioritizing MSFS (besides Aerosoft, Orbx and FSDreamTeam). I wonder if any of the other big-shot scenery devs are still openly prioritizing P3D.

So many areas that could still be explored withthe big airliners.

Nowhere near the same level in MSFS as it could be with a 3rd party developer alternative.

Looks like I'll go with ZIM scenery's RJAA (whenever it becomes available) instead. That's two purchases DD is going to miss out from me.

Well that is really disappointing.

I picked up the DD Narita and I like it a lot. It is definitely well worth the price being charged. Does anyone know if the Technobrain RJTT works in P3dv5?

Cheers, Pete

Interesting how scenery DEV are loving big airports in MSFS so much when there aren't really any big airplanes to fly with.

So either sales for MSFS are great, or, sales for P3D products are nil so might as well try to get ahead?

How about both of those facts are true at the same time?
Suggestions from a couple of scenery developers suggest that's exactly what has happened.

I am pretty speechless on the speed new airports come up those days, most of them as ports for MSFS, but not only, and there are also nice offers like Narita for the others sims. Somehow the whole business seems ot have got a push after the hard year they must have gone though. Not only DD but several others develop their airports for MSFS, P3D, and XP in parallel which certainly is effective and cost-efficient, once the workflow is established.

Unfortunately, this doesn't work for planes - as we observe.

Kind regards, Michael

Hi,

Well the interesting news is ZIM Scenery posted some new RJAA screenshots on their new FB page this week so you can decide whether its worth waiting for this one to come out or hop on the DD bandwagon.

No mention of when this will likely be available though.

I havent purchased anything yet. Am still deciding! 😉

Their homepage only shows V4 compatibility (update v1.03 and v1.05) for the boxed version and SimMarket only mentions up to V4.
V5 doesn't appear to be supported yet, mate.

Pity with the DD Haneda announcement. I am rather keen on putting their version in instead. Will wait.

As far as I know, none of the older Technobrain sceneries is P3D5-compatible, and I own them all. I asked them via mail in Summer and the reply was:

"We are considering taking action in the future, but we are not sure it now. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you."

Which I find pretty weak given the price for their products. Seems Technobrain, MFSG, who made a lot of Japanese Airfields, and Wing Creation, not to speak of Aerosim missed the sign of time to switch to the current simulators.

But I am positive others will take over.

Kind regards, Michael

I am in complete agreement. I paid between 55 and 60 Euros for each of the boxed scenery as I live in Japan, and their support has pretty dire.
Wing Creation just vanished and left their offerings at V2 or something. I look forward to the fresh input from other companies.

I will stay with V4.5 for at least a few years (only switched to it from FSX in January) as I still am amazed at the cockpit shadows and the fact that my 4GB limit for VAS is now gone. With that and all of this new development on the horizon, I feel so happy I could start skipping and singing up and down the Alps like Heidi!!

I paid close to $40 for RJTT and that was on sale. It seems pretty ridiculous that Technobrain could not get this updated for v5. I don’t believe that the scenery is even that old.
