I think its worth mentioning that Asobo is doing a lot of other work that may resolve some of these community issues. People seem to think only 3-4 fixes are in this update but it is the Sim Update release so it should be quite a beefy update with lots of goodies.

I can confirm that,

They fixed part of the offline manual cache without announcing it on the changelog, now, bing ground texture will be downloaded, but, houses, trees and other autogens are messed up.

Originally the 'Press any key' prompt happened after all loading had taken place and immediately before the menu which was perfectly sensible. When you pressed a key the menu appeared immediately. At some point during the alphas some gormless plonker(s) decided to move it to its current nonsensical location.

That's interesting to know! I wouldn't care if pressing a key took me directly to the menu - it's the fact that we have to wait twice during the load.

And to those complaining about why they "spend time" on this issue... If you delegate it to the right person who's familiar with the loading and startup of MSFS, it takes him maybe 15 minutes to fix, whereas other issues won't be finished after 15 working days in a team of 15.

Wow, I didn't know about this. Thanks for the information. That makes a lot more sense, and it's how most games do it anyway.

One of the older leaked videos showed the splash screen playing but without any "Press Any Key to Start" text showing. I'm wondering how many people this missing prompt confused back then. At least one improvement was made in that regard. 😄

We will see, my friend. I would be delighted to be wrong on the matters which are of importance to simmers (flight dynamics, engine management, aircraft performances, weather).

But the first updates after release didn't bring much to these issues, did they ? And that there was no hint that I recall in the Q&A session that they wanted to work on them ?

In my opinion, the issues you mention are better addressed in a larger effort, instead of releasing them small steps at a time. I may be wrong though, and you're right, we don't have any hint, other than seeing some issues fixed (and sometimes new bugs introduced) at places that hadn't been mentioned previously in the feedback snapshots.

Ok, there's one obvious exception: the SDK. They don't mention they're working on it, you just see the results in the release notes when a new version is available.

Beside nothing forbids the team to talk about them even they are not be 'voted' by a few hundreds buyers but are widely discussed in  the forum.

No, and I'd love them to do so in more depth.

And btw, it's interesting how small the number of votes on the official forums is compared to the total number of users. Shows you how few of them actually care enough to interact with the team...

Edit: But anyway, to me it seems weird to assume that the only things they're working on are the ones on the voting lists from the forum...

How do you know this?

I received a mail from Zendesk just after the latest update was out, tested it, then confirmed to them that only the texture was working.

They told me, that they will keep working on it

the manipulative (and tiresome for a normal adult) language of the community manager who writes the update

I'm confused by this. Are we reading the same update? Is it the slight overuse of exclamation marks which is bothering you? I can think of a certain world leader who does that in every social media post he makes, and that is childish! "Manipulative"? In what way, I'm genuinely not seeing that. Surely the job of a community manager is to be upbeat where possible, whilst being informative. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding what's annoying you.🙂

Probably because it can be unpredictable. In an earlier fly-in, at some point there was a nasty cloud creating zero visibility while flying low between the mountains.

That's why I included the lightning symbol!😁 But yes, I tried flying the route last night with live weather, but a daylight time and much of the flight was in heavy mist and fog or deep cloud. For some reason, my RAM usage was immense and my framerate plummeted to 1 - 3fps more most of the flight. Just avoided crashing into mountains and actually managed a centreline landing at Calgary International at 1fps.😄

I wish Asobo wouldn't spend time on trivial rubbish like tooltips and "press any key".

Two simple fixes that can be easily integrated into the update without much chance of side effects.

The tooltips is a problem for anyone who doesn't use a tooltip mod as it gets in the way of what you're doing.

The press any key is not that big of a deal, but the community would go batcrap if it wasn't fixed. Besides, it takes literally no time from the developers to fix and implement.

Not according to the augmented scenery release schedule. NA was the next region after Japan to get a marked increase in scenery fidelity. I could be mistaken though.

That's not what this video is. This is from a series of videos they've been releasing for months showing places all over the world.

Didnt look any different to me..maybe its just buildings if anything,, the landscape scenery looked the same.. So i am confused also

Thats what I thought...everything looks how it does in the Sim right now...aren't we suppose to get an update like we did for Japan, was that the preview video for it?

This is just part of their series of 'Around the World Tour' videos, it's nothing special or connected to a future update.

Nice work! Even with my 15-20 FPS and stutters I couldn't do that.

Where are the polls in the MSFS forum?

If you mean the areas where you can post and upvote bugs and wishes, they are here:

Years of experience with an underpowered PC and FS9/FSX and a joystick which couldn't give me the fine adjustments I needed just before touchdown.😉

It was nerve-racking though, constantly wondering if the sim would crash before I would! Strange thing was I had nothing else running and the entire sim was affected - it took several attempts to make on-screen buttons work and even pressing Escape to turn my settings down from Ultra to Minimum took 20 seconds and made no real difference. Must have been a memory leak or similar.
