Yes, if they could turn lightning off or provide an option to turn it off, that would be much better until they straighten out that ridiculous bug.

The framework of our conversation is the improvements and corrections of  bugs, dysfunctional or dumbed down features. If one trust them to be open and forthcoming, one can only assume that the updates sum up what they actually do or not do. There is no othet indication that they could work on the items that I listed above. It might be weird but wishful thing is not bad per se until it borders delusion 😉. We need to hammer that they should work on them. Will it be useful ? I don’t know but I know that if we don’t say anything, nothing will happen. 

Beside, they said indeed that they were working on new sceneries and aircraft.  Will the development of new aircraft help those of the initial release ? Wait and see.

I am getting more and more pleasure while flying in MFS, especially with the aid of the community addons and fixes. 
I just hope that an official change is done to the simple structure of the community folder and the free for all way that addons are being named with no conventions.

My list is now over 200 (paid and freeware) and it is becoming difficult to find what I have/don’t have and to keep track of versions.

I agree to the fun with MSFS, but I also agree we need some administration tool for the community folder. One aspect is to keep track of versions (and what is installed at all), another one is the growing loading time of the sim - I saw people reporting loading times of 15 min and longer, and this is 2 months after launch with an exploding number of addons. 

While a lot of my hopes for MSFS have fulfilled (yes!), my expectations for a streamlined addon-management over the legacy simulators didn't so far.

Because I heard this also, a sort of "me too!" affect started with me, and I began believing that my load times were increasing as well.

Fortunately I had actually timed my startup earlier, and in fact, there's no discernable change.

No, not me too. My load time til the world map is 5 min (which is still long, but well) and my Community folder contains nearly 1500 subfolders (not 1500 addons! - several addons come with a multitude of folders).

However, I did stay away from those Google Maps converted cities so far.

I have 3,329 Sub-Folders, and start time from pressing the Sims start icon until loading complete (the sims home screen) is 00:02:23.2

Again, its one of those situations where the results seem almost random..... 😕

U have lots of fast ram.. i bet thats affecting loading speed to a good degree.

The takeaway seems to be that we can't reliably extrapolate from our own experience what people on other systems will encounter while using this Sim.

Too many people screaming bloody murder, while others purr, happily.

It seems like everybody's on their own.

I found that by far the biggest difference on load times was installing a NVME SSD. These are about 4 times faster than a regular SATA SSD on continuous load. My load time from desktop to the main game menu is now 2min 8sec. I do use the video skip utility too. I had previously been using a SATA conventional hard disc. The change was dramatic to say the least. I am running on an i7 8750 laptop with 16gig ram.

Nobody ever wondered what will be after November 2020? I mean, it is rather puzzling that they still show August and September in a October 22nd development update, no? What is MS/Asobo planning after November? Would it not be more informative, if e.g. the development updates of October show the next four months instead of the past two months?
