Unzip it anywhere I keep the folder of files on my desktop even works without sim running also places exe file after running it on your taskbar for quick access while in sim

I've been using it in P3d with Pilot2ATC and it is quite good. I like it in MSFS also, I turn the volume down to about 25 so it doesn't interfere with regular ATC and is active in bg.

I’ve been using this for years... live (few minutes delayed) so you get a real accurate situation picture... works beautifully (mostly).

Does it chatter over your in-game transmissions, or silence itself when you are communicating with atc?

It silences itself if used in P2A.

not in MSFS but it does if you are using P2ATC

Some of you maybe familiar with X-ATC-Chatter which is a collection of ATC chatter clips that can be used with Pilot2ATC and with a stand-alone player on X-Plane. I have a first cut of a stand-alone player for FS2020 and P3D V5 that people can use to play chatter clips on those simulators if you are not a user of Pilot2ATC.

The new player is in open beta and includes 400 free clips so you can participate in the beta without the need to purchase the full clip library. I'm running the beta from either the FS2020 forums or the X-Plane.org forums:

Note: I do not have support for FSX but it may be possible if there is a lot of interest. I assume most people will be moving to MSFS 2020 so I have not focused on making it work on FSX.

If you do participate and like what you see during the beta you can purchase the full clip set which has over 24,000 atc chatter clips from across the world either on the Stick and Rudder Studios website or the X-Plane.org store. It is listed under X-ATC-Chatter but it is easy to just take the clip library from the archive and use it with the FS-ATC-Chatter player just like people do for Pilot2ATC.

In either case above I urge you to try the beta first to make sure this is something you want before purchasing the entire clip library.

Assuming I get good feedback from the beta I'll make FS-ATC-Chatter available as a commercial offering. I'm fairly new to developing add-ons for the Microsoft market so I would appreciate any advice on what are some good outlets to sell on, preferably a site similar to the X-Plane.org store.

I used the files with PROATCX and they offered a great variety and adds to the immersion. Good product in my eyes, had a few flights with the beta, so far so good.

I use "Live ATC". It doesn't cover the whole world (though still quite a big part of it), but it gives.. uhm..well.. live ATC, as it says, and the immersion that I like.

Do you have to manually change from Ground to Tower to Departure etc. in "Live ATC" in order to have the appropriate chatter?

It seems X-ATC Chatter has some logic to play the appropriate types of clips automatically, based on the tuned COM frequency in the sim.

I've used Radar Contact 4 for many years and still do with P3D.  I wish some clever person could modify the RC4 connection so that it would work with MSFS.  I know that it's really old in the tooth now but it is still so much more real and immersive than the built in program which is simply awful.  I was transiting north, half way up Devon the other day when I was told to call Manchester Centre for flight following!  Modern radars may be good but they cant see ac at 3000 ft 200 nms away.

Well, I guess I'm not that picky. As long as it's an ATC service in the neighbourhood of where I'm flying. ATC live doesn't cover all parts of the world. E.g. it doesn't cover England or Gemany. Than I'll have to compromise. Then I choose Euro-control for instance. After all, it's all about ambience, isn't it? Hearing some fitting accent adds to it also. Most of the time I don't even listen to what they're talking about exactly.
