November 17, 20205 yr this log book only works if the exact atc runway for take off and landing is used and you taxi to the exact parking spot,do this and it records every time

The logbook problem, in my opinion, is totally random. I have had flights when I did everything as you said, and the flight was not logged. I have done flights where I followed everything, except after landing I parked at a different spot than where I was directed to, and the flight WAS logged. I have tried so many different variables, with totally random results. I've had the smoothest landings on the ATC assigned runway, taxied off the runway to my assigned parking spot, and had my destination logged as 'vicinity'. I've had the 'after shutdown' window pop up after engine shutdown and the flight was logged, and some where the flight was not logged. I have had some flights where NO 'after shutdown' window appeared, and the flight was logged, and some where it was not logged. The variables go on and on. Again, I have not been able to decipher a pattern, and continue to believe it is just random. Stay safe! November 17, 20205 yr Sometime it logs the flight when I shut down the aircraft manually, sometimes it doesnt. Sometimes the logbook logs just a portion of the flight. Sometimes the logbook stops logging mid flight. Usually the logbook doesn't log at all. I have atleast 200 hours missing from it since patch #3 when it went totally broken. I have so far recorded all my flights with pen and paper. How hard is it for Asobo to make the logbook log properly again ? Still not working properly after three patches being broken.
November 17, 20205 yr Another issue is with bumpy (i.e. poor standard!) landings. If I bounce on the landing, it will often record both the actual landing and a second 'flight' with the departure and arrival points being the same runway, even though that 'flight' was a mere few seconds. May 27, 20224 yr Still a lot problems with logbook. Last 10 flights not a single takeoff registred with MaddogX,PMDG737,FenixA320. all landings recorded though. Michael Moe Michael Moe
May 27, 20224 yr The other day I flew, landed, taxied and then decided to fly a bit more without shutting down. The logbook recorded first take and last landing but not the intermediate stop. I use LNM and, although not perfect, the logbook there is pretty good with only the occasional missing entry. It included the intermediate stop mentioned earlier. The other problems are the lack of running totals and no day/night records.
May 27, 20224 yr Logbook seems unable to recognise take off’s and landings properly. This has been the case since release 2 years back. Happens regardless if you use in-game flight planner or Simbrief. One thing that has improved since SU9 is that I no longer seem to get a zero hours entry if I shut down engines but do not close out the flight. Logbook appears to be a very low priority for Asobo and for most simmers too, as not too many people are complaining about it. Myself included…. but it would be nice for something so basic in this sim to work as intended. When (or rather IF) they do finally fix it one day, would be nice to have an edit feature to clean out all the historic garbage that has accrued in the logbook because of these bugs. May 27, 20224 yr I only have 225 hours total. Every flight has been recorded in logbook back to 1/6/2021 when I started. Even if I just start it up on the runway to check something, then exit out, it is recorded. Or if I end a flight in mid course, it shows XXXX Vicinity. 90 percent have been take offs from the runway. 95 percent without ATC. So at least in my case it has nothing to do with parking spots, runway selection or ATC. The few that I start off cold and dark are also recorded. If I start airborne to practice landings it shows XXXX Vicinity. I know this may add to the confusion, but it may eliminate some suggestions that have been given as the cause. May 27, 20224 yr I did my first full flight in the Fenix A320 and after shutting down the plane, the logbook will usually pop up and log my flight. But this is the first time it didn't. I'm wondering if it's a bug with the Fenix A320? May 27, 20224 yr There's a setting for this. Go to USER EXPERIENCE The last item, End Flight When Aircraft Shutsdown. If OFF the logbook will not display. If ON it will and the flight will end. I like to look around after I land so I have it OFF. Roy i7-10700 CPU @2.90 GHz, 32 GB Ram, nVadia GTX1660ti, Samsung 1 TB SSD Drive
May 27, 20224 yr Yeah pretty much the same. I cannot say if this occured after one of the MSFS update (since I had little time flying since SU9), however, when flying with the Fenix often Arrival Airport is not recognozed msfs record it as landed on "vicinity". MSFS Logbook need adjustments. I wish you could edit the logbook afterwards and having a logbook according to JAR 1.080 would be amazing.
