November 7, 20205 yr Like the airlines (unfortunately for the Airbus sales department) I don't have much interest in the A380, not least because it is one fugly aeroplane, although notwithstanding its appearance it is impressive to see one up close, so all credit to this team for giving it a shot at making one; if you're gonna go for it, might as well go big. I guess they know it is possible to create something reasonably realistic from having tweaked up the A320, so it'll be interesting to see if they can get it together in a reasonably decent timeframe and hopefully before the real type goes the same way as the B747-400 for passenger ops for essentially the same reasons of essentially being a white elephant for most airlines. Anyway, I certainly wish the team luck on getting this project off the ground. Edited November 7, 20205 yr by Chock Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
November 7, 20205 yr I find it a bit of shame in the short term that they didn't throw their resources behind the 747 and 787 as their current modders don't seem to have much resource. With the MSFS sim knowledge they have gained they could, I think, have provided quite a boost to the quality of these too in short order. CJ
November 7, 20205 yr To have a good quality A380 in a flight simulator (freeware or payware) is breaking new ground on any platform. I am hopeful but don't want to hold my breath in case we are disappointed that it doesn't end up following through like other A380 announcements in the past!
November 7, 20205 yr The freeware community behind this sim is simply amazing. I find it hard to keep up with it all some days, and it is generally quality stuff. I have never known anything like it in any other sim. Some of the free sceneries are better than the old FSX payware quality. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's. Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.
November 7, 20205 yr In trying to simulate reality, I like to use the proper equipment for the range of the flight being taken. The A380 is a minimum 8 hr flight equipment. I wish they would have picked a medium range aircraft to develop.
November 7, 20205 yr I realise that it's the minority of flights but actually Emirates once operated A380s from Sydney to New Zealand (Auckland, Christchurch) that would give you 3-4 hour flights. If I recall there are a couple of other short A380 flights too (e.g. Dubai to Muscat).

Emirates flies Dubai to Muscat 211 miles (apparently this is in the air for only 5 minutes longer than the usual crew of 42 take to clean the plane 🙂 also Dubai to Jeddah 1000 miles and used to do Kuwait to Doha China Southern does a 3 hr flight from Guanzhou to Beijing Emirates also used to do a 3hour flight from Christchurch to Sydney. In addition there are many transfer flights you could do 🙂 Graham Edited November 7, 20205 yr by Moria15 System specs... November 7, 20205 yr One immediate benefit of the sims new scenery is bush flying . I hope we get some good bush planes, like the twin otter, dc3, and a few other vintage twins to explore the less than usual places on earth. With a cargo add on utility, it'll be fun to haul cargo in remote places.
November 7, 20205 yr Thought the A380 engines during takeoff sound amazing. To look at suprised it gets off the runway😊 Look forward to this, thx FBW

One of the comfiest planes I ever flew on though, way better than the 747-400.
November 7, 20205 yr Wow! Ian,, one can almost sense that even on the videos. Will make this a must learn plane!.
