Nice. Wish we had a similar team for Boeing though. Is it just me, or, does anyone else avoid flying airbus? (And I mean in the sim, not real Life. One of the best planes I ever flew on so far is the A380)

Very ambitious. Will take a long time but worth the wait for many.

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT

We are proud to announce we will be developing a freeware A380 for MSFS, built from scratch.

It is currently in the early stages of modeling, but its development will not affect progress on the A32NX whatsoever.

We will be answering questions about this in our next episode of In The Hangar. We hope to have some more exciting updates in the far future!

If you are a skilled modeler or have worked on A380 in real life and wish to help out, please feel free to reach out to the mod team here: https://www.discord.gg/flybywire

We plan on this being complete in a few years, but we will make it publicly available way before that. This is in no way official but I personally expect the project to be open source and therefore available within 8 months. It'll be far from study level at that point though, we wanna make sure to get things right

Its just you .. Everyone has their personal preference. A350 and A330 are mine.Im sure other people have theirs.

Back to topic. Not the greatest fan of the A380 but i definitely will download once its released and the sim settles down a bit. (Still on virgin install) and will be for a few months.

While I definitely enjoyed my NGX in FSX, flying the FBW has made me remember just how much I enjoyed the PSS A319/20/21 in FS2002/2004 (probably about a QW level of detail) as far as the "Airbus methodology" of doing things.  I still plan to get PMDG's 737 when it finally arrives but for now I'm more than happy to use FBW's offerings and would probably pick up a payware airbus product if available as well.  Also planning for sure on the QW 787 since the default one is still just a piece of junk for the most part.

Edit: As far as a FBW type 737 if that's what you're asking, that would definitely be welcome as well, but FBW had the benefit of a default aircraft to start from.  A 737 would have to start from scratch similar to their A380 project (though I suspect a good bit of their work can be ported from the 320 and modified for the 380).

So many A380s sitting parked around the world. Wish it could be possible for this team to be able to access one to take gazillions of pics and other reference measurements.

Yeah, that kind of thing really helped out the WT team on the CJ4.  They have access to the real thing and have done stuff like sit in it and record the audio bits and such even for things like the automated passenger briefings.

Developers like these have been the sole reason why this genre has been alive for so long. I wish them the best.

Just wow. Music to my ears. If they can successfully navigate the autopilot this will be incredible. And the closer to study level the better please!

This reminds me of the already released 747 mod
