An updated Mod for the excellent Diamond DA62 has been released at the MS Forums and Flightsim.to. It seems today's release is just an update from previous versions. Never tried this Mod before, after I read it caused CTD's to some. This is another example of the existing talents that are capable of correcting the main issues on mainly all MSFS default aircraft.

Looks to me that a similar project was announced days ago by Robert Young and if it's true, maybe the way to go is to wait for Robert's work, who has always produced very reliable Mods, as the one he did for the Bonanza-Turbo.

I've used this mod since the early days from nexus mod manager/vortex and it's amazing.  I cannot recommend it enough if you want a realistic version to fly with.

 

Never had a ctd and it's constantly being updated. 

Nb: it uses the garmin mod.

 

It's a great mod.

I find that it is a vast improvement. Same as the DA40x project. It still needs alot of power to move on the ground, and takeoff performance is lackluster, but it is overall much better. 

I downloaded and installed this mod for the first time a couple of hours ago and I can also tell you it flies especially well and should keep the twin lovers happy until Robert gets his updated.

Currently doing my standard test run...KBUR to Catalina...that takes me right over KLAX....so far no issues other than the break away thrust required to get it moving.  In the air she flies nice.

Safely at Catalina....going to grab a buffalo burger while I'm here. 🙂

No additional issues to report with this mod...approach and landing quite normal, with the exception that I'm not a fan of the limited view off the nose when pitched up for a normal AoA on landing.  Not the mod's fault...its the plane design. 😞  Maybe in the real thing you can move your seat higher...but in the sim...you bang your head before you get a good view out the nose.

I downloaded and installed NONFADEC version, and whenever I move throttle up it rpm starts jumping up and down and the goes to zero. Very odd

The developer included a document on one of the last updates where he explains the differences between the 3 options he provides and how they work in case you haven't seen that. Hope it helps.

Thanks I will take a look. I have  only read readme file that accompany two folders FADEC and NOFADEC

Appreciate you posting this as I’ve been flying the DA-62 almost exclusively in FSE and feel it’s lacking in a few areas, some already mentioned. Will download tomorrow and check it out. Great to hear Robert Young might be working on an update as well.

I see...well, it is a beauty. I for one would really appreciate you releasing it or anything else you might have for the DA-62. Funny, I just spoke to a buddy earlier who’s a pilot and works at KAVX. He did a twin check ride out here in Vegas today. Just sent him the screenshot and have yet to hear back.

I have recolored existing livery patterns in FSX and replaced the tail numbers for liveries I kept to myself as unique, so I fully understand.  But never learned how to lay fresh new patterns.  Steve and Ron are flight simulation Hall of Fame shoe-ins!

Yeah....i can't release anything publicly until I learn how to package and send to the community folder.  I know the info is there...I have just not processed it yet.   Once I get blender and Substance Painter down and actually have real paints to release, I'll get that part straight in my noggin. 🙂 

These are just "paint chip" updates anyway....just about anyone can do them. 😉 

Real work is crazy now with the spike in COVID cases....the hospital system I work for is getting more and more cases every day. 😞

Thanks.  Unfortunately I'm not ready to release anything to the general public as I mentioned above.  When I'm ready to do that...you'll see them uploaded in the usual places.

The funny thing is that I taught myself Photoshop and I thought it'd always be the king once I moved up from Paint SHop Pro which I used for about 16 years.  Now when I look at what Substance Painter can do....PS looks like a baby's toy!  The learning curve....ugh.

Hehe....not such a nefarious creation....I literally was playing around with some unusual colors, you know...like dark red 😉 and other's I had not seen on planes before in general.  And I noted in another thread in a different forum that I really liked various shades of yellow on a plane when I painted this:

So tried yellow on a GA plane and waddya' know... I like it too. 🙂

Football (or sports in general) team colors have never been my thing....to much drama when you get a rabid fan who's diehard for one team and you happen to the paint colors for their hated rivals. 😉   
Much rather paint unicorns and rainbows on them instead. 🤣
