I wonder who gave them the idea NOT to do updates every two weeks? I was wrong! The dev team does listen to the community.

Crash to Desktop (keeps people from playing) - "Backlog"

Mouse Stops Interacting with Cockpit (some workarounds, but breaks gameplay in some instances) - "Backlog"

Mirrored Textures on the 787 (likely a few minutes to fix at most, from the art asset team, not the core sim team) - "Backlog"

Horizontal line through mountains and objects (totally ruins the visuals when this shows up, I think it's been there since before release) - "Backlog"

I think I'm just going to go buy a copy of X-Plane at this point, since it's apparently going to be years to get basic things in this sim fixed.

Good time to buy X-Plane or P3D, they should be at 50% discount now.

One thing you will notice, no more updates every two weeks, only every 2-3 month and with it, there will be a beta test for these updates.

That would be a good thing as I imagine that the updates would be major updates and thoroughly tested for bugs etc. We'd all have a much more stable sim IMO.

Love to see progress but even since MS now changed the nomenclature to Simupdate I still wonder whether Update 7 is now included in Simupdate 2 (USA) or vice versa? Or is world update the other sort of updates, so Simupdate vs Worldupdate? Too confusing still for me. Besides that I am honestly still amazed that some - assumingly minor issues - take so long. While I can perfectly live with non opening doors I have to admit that I would have expected the log book bug would be addressed faster than in 2021. Not because I find it crucial but just because I would naively think it’s a quick win. Anyway. Happy to see Asobo and MS work on this

Once the basics are all fixed, then all the extra features will start to be developed that we all want to see. I might have been able to buy my new GPU in the meantime.

The Simulation Updates will be major updates to the simulator's core systems every 2-3 months, like the World Updates. They are not the same as the bi-weekly patches which I presume will continue to be released with the same cadence (at least after the holidays and corona wind down). I agree the nomenclature is a bit confusing.

Asobo need to work on their communication skills, the DR wording needs to be clear, I can cut Asobo a bit of slack because the wording could be lost in translation, but the MS overlords have English as their primary language, so they should be correcting Asobo's poor use of the English language.

I believe Update 5 was 'Sim Update 1' (where they started playing with pitch sensitivity of 5 planes and tweaked the sensitivity curves) based on comments in the Dev Q&A.

They have previously said that going forward World Updates (Patches) are every 2-3 months, and Sim Updates (Patches) will be every 2-3 months, roughly interleaved inbetween the World Updates, such that every 1-1.5 months we get a bunch of "new stuff".

There may be smaller bugfix patches inbetween those, but that's what they have said about the big patches.

So we're likely a ways out from Sim Update 2 (end of January) and Sim Update 3 (end of April).

It would be nice if they extended out the roadmap summary portion (which now ends next week) to go with the updated language in the feedback snapshots.....

You keep saying this and I know I for one have agreed with you and encouraged you to. You’ve seen 3 months of post-launch development and pretty clear signposts from the devs about what to expect at what timeline, and every time there’s any development you get quite worked up with how unacceptable it is for you.

I make no comment about whether your complaints are justified or not, but as you keep repeating complaints and that the answer is to buy XPlane, I’m curious as to why you just don’t actually do it? You clearly think it’s the better option for you and I think you might be right:)

The freeware devs have already started figuring this out. The core elements are already built into the engine.
