Henrik Nielsen's Global AI Ship Traffic for MSFS

Recommended Posts

Any news or updates regarding this? I miss this add-on so much since the FSX and P3D days. The coastal regions and oceans need more life to them.

I would welcome it too, it was great in P3D. However, I have quite a number of sceneries and I observe very few feature moving ships. There are some, but very few, so it seems to be "difficult" within the present SDK.

Kind regards, Michael

Actually there has been some progress. I found some shots and they look absolutely beautiful in MSFS! Looking better than ever! ❤️

This is great news! I had this in P3D and it really added to the immersion when flying around port cities like Seattle and Vancouver. Can't wait to see this in MFS2020!

I think most of the ships are already converted but have run into some issues due to the SDK not being completed. I can't wait for this either. One of the best add-ons to add immersion to the waters!

Looks like another AVSIM. Never heard about that site before. What do they specialize in? The developer of the Global Ship AI Traffic mod is also a member here as well. Why would we need to go there for the news?

It is an old site with its own personality and no real specialization. A lot of old ex-military personnel in the regulars. A lot of freeware developers too. It was the « cradle » of the Manfred Jahn and team’s  DC3 for instance.

Wow - the shots look fantastic! His ship traffic adds such a huge amount of immersion and life to the sim.

Any ideas what parts of the SDK need work (perhaps the the wake effects)? Perhaps we can upvote something specific on the official forums to get more visibility.

Heh I've been using it in MSFS for a couple months now (specifically the collection on fsnorway), I just plopped the files into a community folder. It works almost perfectly, some models don't render correctly (they're very rare ones though, and not notable unless you're up close) and the night lights don't work but it's usable for background noise.

Nice to see that official support is coming though.

I used the latest version from FlightSimNorway.com and unzipped the file into Community, and I think it's working. I deleted all the images and other extraneous files, but left everything else. Then I used Build.py to generate a layout.json file. I figured MSFS would want that.

I flew a quick flight out of Catalina and sure enough there was a red catamaran, that I had never seen before, with the word Emirates on the sail sailing out there. I was surprised to see that the ship had a wake behind it, and I think I heard the wind sounds when I flew the drone down to it. I thought none of the Effects were working. Now I'm not so sure...

Thanks for the Heads Up.
