"Why can't they stop making scenery and fix the dang sim?!" is as silly as "Why can't the painter stop painting my walls and replumb the basement, instead?!" Yes and no. Of course there is little fungibility between the scenery experts and the aircraft modeling experts once the team has been formed and frozen. But money (and then wages) is, by definition, fungible. The MFS team has been growing as stated by the team leaders, nothing precluded to hire more aircraft modelers or to focus and train new recruits in aircraft modeling. November 28, 20205 yr Great title and a healthy laugh for me. After update 7, this thing is dead for me. I seriously consider cancelling my subscription as I no longer believe that any quality control happens at Asobo. Nothing against the individuals there but I wonder how they cannot see themselves as a laughing stock whenever they unintentionally break something that was working. Hans
November 28, 20205 yr To be fair, I could indeed reduce the long pause issue by deleting all the rolling cache, as proposed in another post. Curious to see if it lasts. Hans
November 28, 20205 yr Author Difficult to understand why they took pictures in all the real aircraft cabins, recorded the real sounds, simulated the drag and lifting forces of the aerodynamics and now they’re not capable of simulating a proper AP?. And to add to this reality that after 3 months they update the sim but in the wrong direction, with a noticeable performance hit, making the sim non fluid anymore. Poor management is the only answer. November 28, 20205 yr "Poor management is the only answer." I totally agreed and I add : Configuration management is the same ! Which explain why "mouse rectangles" are operationnal, then not and after that yes and finally NOK .... November 28, 20205 yr During my limited time since the last update I have noticed (for the first time) some big stutters - so something has definitely changed, my rig or settings have not. There is another thread taking about respect, well personally I love what Asobo are doing, but please please please concentrate on getting the core engine working right. Then add things like particle effects, liveries etc next - instead of bending to the vocal minority and wasting precious resource on things like bloody VR!!! November 29, 20205 yr One more thing I think needs mentioning; the promo videos with the fancy water masking and extended LOD that are butter smooth. They confirmed in QaA that these are an internal Dev copy. So, anyone purchasing the game on the back of watching those videos would be surely disappointed. I know I would be. It’s a bit unfair I think.

Except in ASOBO'S case the painter is painting the walls before they have been plastered or in some cases built. Everyone excuses the SIM because of the graphics, gushing over graphics while terrible SIM dynamics is pushed under carpet by fan Bois. This sim is heading for the Xbox crowd, how is it going to work any other way. How are things like load managers etc that Sims have now that work outside of the SIM, unlike Xplane no plugin system yet.. Xbox users won't have all that. 3rd po arty apps like active Sky, pilot 2 ATC etc. Planes that run stuff outside the sim.. none of this is going to work on a console. .this is Microasobo don't care, or are not on hurry to fix the SIM. They are pandering to people who want to fly a 747 2 meters over the roof tops of NYC screaming hey mom I can see our house, whilst thinking it's GTA V. I feel cheated. I love the graphics, and when it worked it worked well, but my humble opinion is they don't care about getting it right or at least not yet. Sad but I don't expect this sim to get any better soon. It's just eye candy after more. ASOBO need to wake up.

FS2020 is not a Flight Simulator anymore! FS2020 is a MMORPG - a massively multiplayer online role-playing game. Edited November 29, 20205 yr by OSM
