Hoping for at least 4 years before there's any need for upgrade.

6y for me so I may end up w/ 3090 too.  Where did you order one?

Republic3D congrats on your purchase!  You will be happy with how it performs.

Yes, it's expensive but there are ways to justify it.  Zero money spent this year on concerts, cinema, eating out, vacations, etc.  "Savings" all around that could be put towards toys. 😄

All the scalping is sickening to look at.

"Selling, BNIB, only double the retail price.  Selling the 3080 because just got my 3070 (or insert any other made up reason)".

Some will even say right in the listing that you won't be able to find what they're selling in regular stores.

Tried listing my 3090 on local service for $17,000.  Just for giggles, saying 'the money will go towards another 3090'.  My listing was removed because 'it's not serious and made in protest'.

The thing is that my listing is just as serious as all the scalper listings.  I WILL sell it for the listed price in a heartbeat.  For the money, I might even deliver personally.  Unfortunately the moderators saw my post as trolling and closed it.  Scalpers win!

6 years would be great! I ordered it at a Norwegian retailer called Komplett (dot) no. They seem to be getting RTX 3090s once or twice a week. They have some in stock now as well. RTX 3080s never show up on their store, it's not even possible to order one. They're probably receiving them but it all goes to back orders so far.

Thank you! I hope so too.

Yes, the scalping is driving me nuts. It's so shameless and obvious. They'll list an €800 card at €1200 and then they'll do a bidding war and some desperate guy ends up with a €1500 RTX 3080.
I had an "Wanting to buy RTX 3080" listing up for only two days, because I had people contacting me saying they expected to get an RTX 3080 in three weeks, and then asking "How much are you willing to pay for it?" I told him to f*** off.

My Palit gaming pro OC has just arrived, but I'm tempted to send it back.

I've no previous experience of Palit and I've heard mixed reports about it's cooler.

Any opinions out there re Palit generally please?

My three previous cards were a Gigabyte and two MSI gaming X's. So I'm tempted to swap for a gaming X trio for the same cost - better the devil you know I guess.

If it’s below 85C on air, you’re fine.

No chance of that, I appear to be severely thread limited, GPU is running at not much more than 50%

Probably the 5900x - but that was never an immediate upgrade for me. In the mean time I'm still tempted to send the 3090 back - have you had any dealings with Scan and their RMA process ?

I’ve personally never used it, however I’ve heard that it is pretty good.....

Might send it back then, and sight loud acoustics as the main reason. Wait a bit and but again a bit later down the road - as there's doesn't appear to be much of a gain for me running a 3090 right now.

FYI guys. I finally got Zotac RTX 3090. I didn't expect any magic, but it does run sim smoother.  I'm running i9-10900 on 750W PSU. I also bought 850W PSU but haven't install it yet.  I did some research regarding power requirements, and discovered if one doesn't use crazy overclocking 750W power should be more than sufficient.

So I'm currently running my i9-10900 in boosted "game mod" vis MSI Dragon Center and RTX3090 on auto clock. When I run Cyberpunk 2077 or MSFS RTX3090 temperature goes to about 70-75 C, GPU clock goes also up 1700+Mhz. So everything run smoothly on 750W PSU (EVGA non modular). As mentioned above MSFS runs smoother on Ultra with little fps gain, in contrast Cyberpunk got significant fps boost comparing with my old 2080 Super. So overall I'm happy!

Out of interest which MSI card did you buy, is it the gaming X trio?

Your temps seem higher than mine, probably because you are not as CPU bottlenecked as me - what are your frames, Res and settings?
