In the last 10 years or so of using Nvidia cards I've never seen any increase in fps from a driver update. Stability, improvements to the eye candy and extra options are the only things I ever notice.

December 10, 20205 yr An interesting new feature is an option that can be set per application to limit FPS for any program that is in the background or that does not have focus. The minimum is 20 FPS. Intel Core i5-12600k, Nvidia RTX 4070 Super, 128 Gigs.
December 10, 20205 yr On certain configurations they cause periodic screen flickering on the desktop (like a black bar flashing for a split second every few minutes). I experimented it myself and found other people googling for the issue.
