Yep, just re-download the dev version or re-download the dev version with the custom fly by wire

Wouldn't be possible to make this a bit more clear at the FBW github site?. There's a mention about compatibility with the "MSFS latest update", but it would be better that this latest update is specified.

I've never heard of deleting cache resolving any terrain issues, but it's possible it may help after they updated the mesh (as they did in the last 2 updates). However, most of the errors are on their side and always have been, but there can be a mixup between the cache and the mesh when they update it, but this does not generally occur. Could not hurt to try though since they updated the mesh last patch.

I agree Tony.

In the very first paragraph of the release notes, Asobo advise moving everything out of the Community folder.

No they do not!  They state to only remove community mods AFTER the update IF you encounter issues.  I have never once moved my community folder before the update with no issues.  However I have needed to disable mods AFTER the update if they have caused conflicts.

I've done a few hours with the sim since the update and I am definitely averaging 3-5 more FPS since installing it.  I have a decent GPU but only a mid range CPU, so I guess it's down to  the CPU optimisations.

I'm about to put back on some photo scenery made from google images which was a bit of a framerate killer, so that will be an interesting exercise and may prove or disprove what I think I'm seeing.

You may be right, but it's really really hard to test for this. When I keep flying the same area like 10 times, the FPS has always varied by about 20% even in optimal conditions, but sometimes after a reboot things will speed up by 50% or more and then it gets slow again over time. There is a memory leak somewhere (or used to be).

I don't really have the patience to do enough testing to determine it, but for those that do, you really need like 10+ samples with at least 5 reboots IMO, otherwise it's purely anecdotal. Even doing so with the reboots and the multiple sampling has issues, but it should give a better idea. I don't want to sound pedantic, but people are quick to state whether things are faster or slower. I mean I've had the game slowdown 80% for no known reasons, heck on some days I've noticed 30% slower FPS even after a clean reboot and I cannot explain it, but probably just Windows acting up from updates sometimes.

I've noticed the same thing, but it's been somewhat better than previously.  I'll give it a bit more time though.

Mere semantics. WHEN you move them is irrelevant.

Common sense would say there is a good chance after a sim update that mods would be affected.

Everyone should use MSFS linker, I was a holdout for a while and moving stuff manually back and forth, but this is definitely easier.

The risk is mainly if you do something by editing a file or mess with the cache, rather than using the community directory, but better safe than sorry.

Is anyone else getting this gnarly morphing mountain terrain since this patch? It just looks terrible, much worse than what we had in Flight Simulator X and Prepar3D all these years. I made very few flights in the last patch, mostly to compare the trailer water mask areas, but it is so obvious even with small movements using the showcase camera that I feel like I would have noticed it if it existed before...

Sadly I think I will continue to keep the simulator aside, it is impossible to enjoy the scenery with these morphing issues, the coastline glitch and the weird pixelated reflections. I will say though, it feels so, so good to have the clouds back.

Where is this location? I'd like to check how it looks here

Give us an airport to try it from and we'll test it. I have not seen the issue anywhere in the US anyhow, did about an hour of flying. Seems like this last patch fixed ALMOST all of the elevation issues in the interior US, though some lakes still have creeping water, but not as many and all of the volcano ponds and crater ponds are fixed for the most part, from what I've seen thus far anyhow.

So far Roanoke and the spires outside of Omaha - NE (Koma) are the only areas in the US I've seen a lot of issues remaining, there are still triangular spires.

They fixed almost every area, from Ohio - PA and most of VA - WV and Shenandoah Valley area, but for some reason Roanoke still has issues. This is just in my very fast and incomplete assessment, seems like 99% of the US is fixed now.

For me it was extremely obvious in Glacier Park. The entire mountains just kept morphing and shifting in place. Try using these co-ordinates for the exact trouble area, input them in the search bar and create a custom departure in the spot.

Use the showcase camera, set drone speed to 100% and just move forwards and backwards a little. I have Terrain Level of Detail set to 50 if that helps.

The point here is people are Giving advice you must move all community mods BEFORE the update or else it will cause the update to fail - this is wrong!

Yup, I see it and its pretty bad. They cannot seem to get these issues fixed, they fix one issue in one place and cause new ones in another. Hope they get this worked out in the next patch. At least they are some good areas to fly in, it seems to mainly affect very steep mountains, didn't see it in the Eastern US.
