December 23, 20205 yr To add to this, with the Sim 2 update yesterday there seems to be some issue with moving the VC Eyepoint forward and back (Alt+arrow) and some interference when panning in Drone Camera. Hopefully both will be fixed soon. C Best- Carl Avari-Cooper
December 23, 20205 yr I never really understood people who post "default camera saves you X" or "default weather saves you X" - Nothing wrong with having options for 3rd party weather addons or camera systems. It's great to have alternatives if something in the sim by default isn't up to scratch. I haven't been a fan of the camera system since the early alpha days, I'm some what used to it now but I wouldn't say no to Chaseplane if they did eventually release a version for MSFS (Assuming it was possible). Vote to fix transparent sun visors having no effect on the sun glare effect in MSFS at: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/sun-shades-sun-visors-not-influencing-light-in-cockpit/691565/
December 23, 20205 yr Warthog stick here. The little pinkie button behind the long red flipper I set to 'drone view'. The finger button on the side is 'cockpit view'. The shift + side finger button (flipper plus finger) is 'outside view'. I don't use the toggle outside/cockpit command. This way I always know what pressing a key will bring. I don't use Toggle landing gear or toggle parking break but Set landing gear and Set park brake for a similar reason. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Once I mapped INSERT (Drone) and END (Outside) to my XBox controller ($10 on Amazon, not a fancy one) it all settled. I used EXACTLY the same button presses as my EZDOK views, for EXACTLY the same views. The added benefit were the 2 XBox joysticks to refine my views on the fly. Very happy with this now (with the exception of tunable turbulence a la EZDOK). HTH- C So you can go from "Toggle Drone Camera or "Toggle Drone"" to Cockpit ? I cant delete my own profiles as well. I wish i could add a profile thats totally empty for any commands Michael Moe Michael Moe

Hopefully both will be fixed soon. C Camera management was already broken with the previous MSFS update. It was necessary to reassign the buttons in a new way. Most likely, the same thing happened now. I'll only get to the computer the day after tomorrow and install the new simulator update. Then I'll check this guess. Nick Bebyakin / Handmade cameraset - Ezdok v2 and Ezdok v3 EZdok Software. Support remains on the http://www.ezdok-camera.com/ [email protected] / 20Gb / RTX 2060-OC-6Gb / Win10x64 / MSFS2020
December 23, 20205 yr I used EZCA in FSX and Chaseplane in P3D, and I was able to set up my cameras in MSFS to work in a similar manner. I don't set up a lot - I have the POV button assigned with my yoke so I can generally do everything in the overhead and pedestal from the captain's seat. I have 7 cockpit cameras and 7 wing/cabin views. For the external camera, I just use the basic external view (like locked spot view). I haven't played with the drone cam, but I'll get around to it. My point is I have my cameras set up in the same manner that I had them in other sims, more or less. I use an old Logitech G13 game pad and assign key commands to each of the keys rather than a standard keyboard. I think this method is a lot easier to deal with if you set of the right side views (right wing, first officer view...) on the right side of the game pad, and the left side views (Captain, left wing...) on the left side of the game pad. I really only use key commands for views, so I still have a lot of available keys. I added the game pad years ago, and it made navigating any camera system a lot easier. I just wish there was an easier way to clear all of the commands and start from scratch. It can be a little frustrating to come up with available commands. You have to make sure they are not assigned to anything else on any of your peripherals. December 24, 20205 yr Author A little update here since i also had some usb issue with the TCA and FSL regarding the Xbox 360 controller. If i power on the Xbox 360 controller before launching the sim Usb connection gets messed resulting in multiply and differrent custom profiles . I had 4 custom profiles with the exact same name so it seems windows or MSFS starts with a new one when this happens. Thats why i couldnt understand why it never saved my settings. Now i have deleted dublicated profiles and everything seems to work when enabling the controller in sim. Now i only have issue when repower the controller and/or going to menu via esc. It deploys flaps and cuts the throttle re entering. Thanks and merry Christimas to all my fellow simmers out here.🎅🎄😀 Michael Moe Michael Moe

December 24, 20205 yr Are you able to set the Showcase or External camera in a fixed, static external position and track the aircraft. In other words, define a Tower view? Edited December 24, 20205 yr by ErichB
December 24, 20205 yr It's just laziness. Like someone else mentioned I have my camera set up just like ezdoc. I can use the arrows to move forward, back, side to side, up and down. I have my saved views I can cycle through using buttons on my yoke. I also have buttons to jump to outside and drone view, plus another button to jump back to the main view. I also have a wired Xbox controller connected to use the drone camera. I also have a button mapped to the smart camera, and I can cycle through all the smart objects around me. Works like a charm

The problem is the camera system is not intuitive and we have become accustomed to not having to think about doing anything else in our sims except the flying. It is messy to say the least but I'm glad all of those things are actually achievable.

The camera system is actually pretty powerful once you look at all the functions in the camera settings and assign all your buttons and keys
December 24, 20205 yr When I used Ezdok in P3D, I could disable the panning feature between views. Since I change views often and quickly, it really isn't beneficial to me. If someone knows if that's possible in MSFS please let me know. Maybe a camera.cfg edit would work. Curt Branch
