TBM improvement mod. Update due...

Just to say (as mentioned above by Earthdog and Maniac) that there are two modders that are not currently working together.

The MixMugz mod, not only will include the opening doors and other things in the video, but is also a continuation of the previous improvement project.

The PaulFalke flight model changes are also available at flightsim.to, but are a different project.  According to Paul Falke, it is alright to merge his engine.cfg and flight_model.cfg with this larger continuation project of MixMugz, as he is aware of the other project, but doesn't seem to want to join it.

I hope that clears up any confusion.  I intend to use the larger MixMugz project when released, then merge the Paul Falke files to see which one I like the best - simple as that!

The way we are going, and with the Working Title Garmin mods, this will be the most complete default GA aircraft in MSFS.  It is already great to fly.  With these mods combined, I think MSFS was worth the money just for this aircraft alone!

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

So, the doors of the TBM are actually fully modelled despite the fact they could not be opened in the stock version?
Hopefully there are more stock (GA) planes that have fully modelled doors and hatches (like the tubliners) and Asobo will animate them in a future update.
I personally don't like to have three mods installed for one plane as described above.

There is also this mod that deals with the flight model.

I asked the creator to join the main mod for the TBM but i don't see him doing that. But on the other hand it seems that his mod could be used in the main mod.

Have you tried it out together with mixmugs mod. Maybe you can report back whether these two work together.

100% agree.  In addition, the inclusion of the G3X rather than just the G1000 add even more value. If Carenado had released this plane, they probably would have gone with the older version that has the G1000 avionics.

Interesting. According to Reddit comments, the TBM 930 is the only Asobo plane featuring animated doors, but of course it is disabled. It is also the only model with propeller covers and engine plugs (they only appear in the hangar). It goes to show that they've given this model more attention than the rest, not surprising considering it's been used extensively in pre-release promotional material.

wow phenomenal progress! Right now I'm flying the c152, 172, carenado mooney, pa44, WT CJ4 and FBW a320nx only but this mod, if and when dev releases it will make me go back to the TBM

I have the feeling that the TBM was the first airplane to be developed for the sim. Just read the interview with Benjamin Rieubland on jan 21st update: https://www.flightsimulator.com/january-21st-2021-development-update

Therefor, maybe, its model is more complicated than other planes? I mean, if I look at the Baron, I can count the poly's and the textures have less quality, where the TBM is very detailed. As if Asobo or MS said, " Wait! it's a nice model but please hold your horses on the next models because there are many more to do".

Just a thought. 🙂

That said: there are more models which look great of course.

Hello,  would you be able to combine both these mods? I have the impression that Pauls Mod- is only good as flight mode alone, and Mixmugz are far better in engine relations?

I like this aircraft very much but also the Cessan Caravan and I am very sorry that it cannot be done with it.

Yes, it will be possible to combine these mods, or the MixMugz mod might be good enough on its own.

Awesome work. The TBM is already one of the best Asobo aircraft, especially with the Working Title Garmin mods. Looking forward to this project being available!

Yes agreed!

Does anybody know if the video was shot in VR? Is there any way to discern?

Just amazing the amount of talent out there. Just need someone to pick it up and finish the flight model and engine logic and this will be a sweet plane.

How do you know the flight model is wrong??  Opinions dont count as data.

It will be nice to have the opening doors back. The engine sound in the video becomes much louder just as I remembered it from an uh, earlier version of the sim.

I wonder if the ashtrays open now or do I still have to put my cigarette butts out on the carpet?

Well one way is to read the modders release notes and see what they have changed and why. Then you can make your own mind up, and have your own opinion on if it is closer or better to the real performance data.
