Oh, no you got me?!?!?

I made a typo and therefore everything  you said is right and I’m wrong!

Feel better?😎

I bought it but then I realized after looking through the files that he is using MSFS Premium version gages from the 787-10 and various gages from the 747-8.   I wish I would have known that none of this was his own work, but I should have known based on the quality of his other addons.

So basically he is charging 20 bucks for stolen gages and textures.  I wouldn't care if it were free...I'm sure Asobo would, but this is a big no-no.  He's actually including the gages and textures in his folder, he's not simply calling the texture from somewhere else.

Ok, now that isn't good.

No, you tried to warp spacetime 😁

We can reasonably expect a PMDG 737 around early-late 2022, and the post from PMDG about price is before : beta, PC release, XBOX release.

Don't you think it was a bit too early to set up a price, a lot did change in 15 months and a lot will in the following.

Can you confirm this, please?   You're saying that it's including verbatim copies of MS content that is to be found ONLY within the code unlocked when you purchase the premium edition?   Because if so, that's definitely a nono and it changes things a good bit.

True.

So you think that it’ll be less than the aforementioned $139.00?

It would be nice, since I already have a $100.00 credit towards for buying the NGXu for P3D!

But, especially with all the talk about the SDK, re-coding, etc. I’d be surprised if it’s not more, not less.

From reading the thread it seems that the 787 gauges and avionics are bundled with the base sim, just not the aircraft model or the complete package.

It's really embarrassing watching the PMDG word not allowed here screeching and looking for a way to destroy this developer purely because he released an inexpensive 737 that didn't come from their favourite developer. Really, kids, get away from the keyboard. You are the reason Avsim has a toxic reputation in the wider flightsim world.

i7-10700K; RTX 2070 Super; 16GB; P3Dv4.5HF3 & MSFS2020.

From the screenshots it also uses pieces of the 787 cockpit model (and I think some bits from the A320 model).

Pretty definitive,  he also stole models and textures from the TBM, Icon  A5 and 747-8i

I'm was with you on that, and that's exactly what I said it would be fine for them to do.   But, based on what @aniiran said, I decided to do like Chock and buy this for the sake of the factual research rather than speculation.

And, unfortunately, it looks as though this does straight-up clone some of Microsoft's "premium" content.   Specifically, the two sound flies, Asobo_B787_10.PC.PCK and Asobo_B787_10_AI.PC.PCK, are bit for bit identical to the ones shipped with the 787.   (MD5 checksums of 200953420b11e4b1e7c5e03dfa951646 and 04c84b9f1caf98084da23f5b2cb7adc1 on each, respectively).

Additionally, the Textures directory contains many images that are similar to those shipped with the 787 (as well as some from the 747 and the A320).  These images are not bitwise identical, but when loaded into a photo editor the image content between the shipped versions and the stock versions appears exactly the same.   (I'm not familiar enough with the DDS format to know if simply opening and resaving these files in an editor would be enough to do that.)

That changes things a lot and this becomes much more potentially problematic.   I don't want to say it's flat-out illegal, because for all we know they could have relicensed content from Microsoft.  But given that the common assumption is that content can be used in mods under the Microsoft Game Content Usage Rules, which expressly prohibit commercial reuse... if that's not the case the developer has a strong case to answer here.

I'm going to drop SimMarket a note to let them know they have at least legally questionable content up and that they should verify a license with the developer.   And I, personally, wouldn't suggest buying this at this point until we know more.  I'm opposed to the viciousness on display from some folks here, but I'm even more opposed to what appears could be the illegal reuse of unlicensed content.

I can provide further details on content to anyone who's curious, and I'm going to reach out to the developer to see what they have to say about it.

That was the good thing to do

You should also have a look at the Typhoon folder, you might find some surprises

Does anyone have proof that the Base game includes the 787-10 files?  I bet most of us here at AVSIM have premium deluxe.
