Orbx landmark brisbane

Featured Replies

Can't wait for Orbx to release their YBBN, this will complement the Brisbane City pack nicely and make for a great short flight between YSSY-YBBN using Orbx Sydney Landmarks with FlyTampa's YSSY!

Brisbane city is not that far from the airport, 10 miles or so...  So, I am thinking it could be in the vicinity when approaching from the south west to the North East.  IF its not an enhancement to the airport landing I too would pass. I am just skipping this purchase for now until there is a  payware or pay ware  quality airport for Brisbane airport.

There is a good Freeware for YBBN

What settings are you using and what screen resolution ?

Also if you turn on the FPS counter in dev mode are you seeing limited by GPU or limited by CPU ?

Using ultra 4k I'll have to check but I suspect it will be cpu limited

If it is CPU limited maybe you need to drop the Object and terrain LOD back to 80 or something when using CPU intensive stuff like this. If you are looking at City scenery you are likely to be low enough for LOD not to matter so much.  No idea, worth a try if you could be bothered.

Its the same with their Singapore release.. stuttershow when getting near to the city center. I have a 2080Ti and 9900k at 4.8 ghz. The sim usally run smoothbut those citysvape stuff is word not allowed on my system

Same here my system runs smooth but as soon as I put the landmarks brisbane on I get stutters so I have removed and I'll try again at some point when I have a better card/system, I'm happy with the default brisbane city just wanted to see how it ran

That's funny, because on my mediocre system (specs in my signature) I don't experience any stutters at all in either Singapore or Brisbane. I have most sliders on high and medium, textures and clouds are on ultra. FPS are in both cities around 20 and everything is smooth.

Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds

My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080

I would hope a 3090 would resolve this but I wouldn't bet on it

UPDATE...

So I installed ORBX Brisbane and had absolutely no issues. For comparison default was around 44FPS and using 9.3Gigs of Vram.

surprisingly after the install I was still seeing 42-46 FPS flying around the city. Very smooth. Vram increased to 13.5Gigs. MSFS really loves VRAM and its not even DX12 yet.

As far as city impressions, wow looks like a totally different place. ORBX did a great job.

Seems that something is wonky - bad models, clashes. However... 💯

I'm running this pack quite well too with my system - i9 9900KF and RTX 2070 Super. I haven't noticed any frame drops or anything like that, it just looks stunning. My settings are quite optimised and are a blend of high and ultra. I wonder if the stutters are more prevalent with a certain option set to ultra that's set to high on other systems? Because let's face it, we're talking about fairly "simple" objects - sure way more detailed than stock, but nothing out of the ordinary that should cause major fps issues, it just doesn't make sense.

True my fps is ok just a pausing every approx 3 seconds, may be the combination of 8700k and 1080ti running at ultra on 4k,if I remove this pack it's dead smooth and I have about 3 gig video card memory but gets wiped out if I reinstall it, uses all my video ram and causes stutters, I also have 64 GB system memory
