I'm quite pleased to see the seaplane terminal represented.  I went to Vancouver for a couple of days while visiting the PNW a couple of years ago and had a flight booked out of there to Victoria.  I arrived for the 7am flight only to be told it was cancelled due to bad weather.  I was gutted so I might just get this so I can recreate the flight that never happened. 

Very impressive at that price point and the dev even includes part of the city. It will be useful if we can compare to FSDT's version.

Yours is a common complaint in the community. Yet what happens if the second available airport is notably better than the first - do we have to accept the first to arrive in the marketplace only?
That sounds like a recipe for a sim full of JustSim airports rather than Flightbeam or FlyTampa.

The market will sort this out. If, for example, JustFlight's Piper Arrow III is not sufficiently better than the Carenado version, then it just won't sell enough to break even. That's a very good incentive to make a better product than the competition.

And (for me) the good thing about this version (apart from the seaplane terminal) is that it's available on Orbx Central, my favourite repository for add on scenery.

Available on Orbx Central,..now that is good news. I'll have to take a look.

How can you read in my statement a complaint? I simply stated that we have now two CYVR. Nothing more nothing less.

I would like to see a comparison between the two. Both visual quality and performance impact.

I already own the FSDT Vancouver, but I would consider this (on sale) if I think it’s better.

I have the P3d version which includes DT Vancouver which is very cool. So in that regard I would download this version, as both airports looked good. But I cannot remember the FPS difference.

Alternatively, FSElite are usually good at doing comparison reviews. It usually takes them a few months.

There has been a long standing view put forward by some flight simmers that developers should never repeat another developer's work.
The thinking is that there are so few teams, yet so many airports or aircraft in the World, that they shouldn't duplicate. The word 'choice' in a flight sim context seems to be a dirty word for some.

By highlighting that there was another CYVR available, I assumed you were trying to make the same point.

If I bought (installed) the marketplace CYVR version already, would installing this version cause any issues or would it just overwrite the marketplace one?  Don't want to brick my MSFS 2020.

You must uninstall the fsdt version before installing it. If you do not uninstall you will necessarily have a conflict.
It is obvious...

To be honest the FSDT version doesn't look great at all. It seems more like a quick n dirty port rather than built from the ground up like this one. From the pics, it appears that this one looks much better.
