March 13, 20215 yr It's from the person who turned the GNS 530 into (currently) the best GPS system in MSFS ? Now that sounds promising....

March 13, 20215 yr Oh wow, this is great news indeed! Dave Current System (Running at 4k): ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F, Ryzen 7800X3D, RTX 5090, 55" Samsung Q80T, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, EVGA CLC 280mm AIO Cooler, Brunner CLS-E NG Yoke, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS & Stick, Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant & Add-on, VirtualFly Ruddo+, TQ6+ and Yoko+, GoFlight MCP-PRO and EFIS, Skalarki FCU and MCDU
March 13, 20215 yr It's a good start. But I'm pretty skeptical. His GNS (and subsequently his GTN) still basically needs the qualities of the CJ's FMS to be a helpful GPS. Heck, the entire suite of Asobo avionics needs the CJ's FMS qualities (which we very well may get thanks to Working Title's new gig). | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
March 13, 20215 yr This would be a gamechanger for ga Ifr in msfs. The gtn750 completely blows the g1000 and the gns530 out of the water in the sim not dealing with stupid dials. Plus garmin has such strong support for this platform. I guess the question (and my ignorance) is how do you slot this into existing aircraft in the sim? The panel would have to be redone because of the dimensions and g1000 and gtn750 is t comparable. The equivalent is the g500txi and gfc500 and the gtn750

March 13, 20215 yr Yeah that's another issue. Sounds like his first attempt will just be sitting in the G1000 MFD like shown on his progress shot. He'd have to model the bezel and then somehow adapt it for use in the aircraft. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
March 13, 20215 yr Seems to me a key challenge is getting the GTN 750 to effectively 'take over control ' of the autopilot. Using the MFD screen is a good way to avoid having to do any panel remodeling. Al Edited March 13, 20215 yr by ark
March 13, 20215 yr Down the line, panel remodelling would be nice if only to have a drop in 650 to replace the 430, but getting the actual functionality working seem way more important to me right now.
March 13, 20215 yr On the MSFS forum, the creator says a mid April release date is possible. I'm buying the 'pro version' whatever the cost. Dave Swigert WIN 11 i9-14900KF 64 GB ram Viewsonic 32" 60Hz 2K monitor NVIDIA MSI RTX 4080S Asrock Z790
March 13, 20215 yr Its gotta be integrated into VC panels though. Is there a reason why hes demoing it in the G1000 screen? Looks odd. Ron Hamilton "95% is half the truth, but most of it is lies, but if you read half of what is written, you'll be okay." __ Honey Boo Boo's Mom

Unless you can just 'cover up' something on the panel, I think integrating a GTN 750 into an existing VC panel would require remodeling the panel. I'm not a modeler, but it seems to me that would require access to the VC interior model source code, which I assume is not easily available. Perhaps someone with modeling experience can comment. Al
March 13, 20215 yr This is GREAT news. it is sorely missing from this sim. I would love to be a beta tester. Edited March 13, 20215 yr by Howiefly13 Howard Jetline Systems: Intel 8th Gen Core i7 8700K (4.8GHz Overclock); GTX 1080 Ti; LG Curved UltraWide 3440x1440 Monitor .
