Green text message bar causes stutters

Although Charlie the mod on here Seems convinced it's been fixed, when it hasn't.  It's there clear as day. 

I'll also put a punt on it that LM will do jack about it.  It doesn't effect their vanilla version, so they won't bother. Don't hold your breath.

What was fixed (with the replacement of Scaleform with HTML5) are the severe stutters that were caused by simconnect text windows, like the options menus displayed by GSX, or the text menus from Radar Contact via FSUIPC.

Unfortunately, the HTML5 menus have their own issues - notably that they do not accept keypresses when the window that owns the menu is not in focus. So if you undock an HTML5 menu and put it on another screen, you can't select options via keypress unless you mouse-click on the menu first. I had to go back to Scaleform menus (with the flashing) to fix this. If LM doesn't fix this in the next point release then I and others in the same boat will be deeply unimpressed; and then you've got Virtuali saying that they're going to draw their own menus in GSX vNext because the SimConnect menus are not good enough. 

Sigh. There's an awful lot of not good enough in P3D these days.

Any chance anyone has been able to fix this with v5.2?  I'm still seeing these significant stuters whenever a green text bar is present.

Something I recently observed is when a text message opens like my tiller steering message in FSLabs A320 it shuts down Vsync. I watch my frames go from 30 to unlimited with every toggle of the text message. If I deactivated messages in P3Dv5.1 no issue. 

Has anyone else noticed this behavior?

I run a native 30Hz TV with P3Dv5.1 set to Unlimited, Triple Buffering On, and Vsync on with no external frame limiters as I have successfully for years.

Yes, I see this as well.  

 

So I guess I’ll clarify my above posts….it seems the stuttering on my end with the green text bar is cause by a change in refresh rate or Vsync/Gsync changing.

It's a common problem.  LM have known about it since v5.0 very common problem with fsl if you have the sticky nose wheel steering notice on.

Not sure what sort of "stutters" people are referring to.

It's normal, even from SFX days to experience a slight FPS hit when a 2D "Text display" window, especially with the scrolling option) is drawn on top of the 3D rendered scenery  window.

It's not that. It's a well documented issue that came up in V5.0

Just to be clear,  I’m not saying I’m seeing the stutter issue this is something new I noticed. Vsync gets toggled off and on when a text message appears and then disappears. Sure when Vsync gets toggled off with all my other settings very high I might very well get stutters. I posted this in case it’s something new LM needs to look at in addition to the stutters problem. I posted on the LM P3D forum as well. I believe people are seeing stutters with the text message without running Vsync on which then gets turned off.

I'm second to that. Experiencing this issue since the day I've moved to P3D. Would appreciate if you suggest tricks for overcoming this issue.

Could you please elaborate on how it was fixed OR how it could be fixed on a user's side. I continue to experience the pattern with stutters that you described above

The white transparent dialogue boxes were fixed. The green bar wasn't.
