April 1, 20215 yr Interesting...I'm cautiously optimistic that having two of my favourite flightsim utilities under the same roof will mean good things. Dave Current System (Running at 4k): ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F, Ryzen 7800X3D, RTX 5090, 55" Samsung Q80T, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, EVGA CLC 280mm AIO Cooler, Brunner CLS-E NG Yoke, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS & Stick, Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant & Add-on, VirtualFly Ruddo+, TQ6+ and Yoko+, GoFlight MCP-PRO and EFIS, Skalarki FCU and MCDU
April 1, 20215 yr Yea, SimBrief is free if you don't care about using current Navigraph data and you are good with old free 2019 data. But IMO, SimBreif is useless without having the latest Navigraph subscription if you want to use it on Vatsim, etc. to plan your flights to perfection. You will need the current Nav data to take advantage of it. I always saw both companies working together anyway due to this, so this news isn't really a shock. It is now more official!. They got married. 😁❤️ lol
April 1, 20215 yr Even if it will not remain a free tool...i mean come on, thats one Burger or pack of Cigarettes less a month. Intel i9-13900K | Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Master | RTX4090 | 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5-6000 | Be quiet! Pure Loop 2 FX AiO | Win 11
April 1, 20215 yr Good move tbh, but only if Navigraph will actively participate in the further development of the platform, I assume they will. I was always surprised that for all these years SimBrief remains fee for services they provide. However, we have to say that SimBrief has some drawbacks (in comparison for PFPX for example, which is totally understandable, because is free), suchs as limitation in Aircraft Profiles (no different engine variants, poor routing for cross the pond routes, etc.). I am happy to pay extra bucks per month if Navigraph/Simbrief will add new features I mentioned above more frequently.
April 1, 20215 yr It's good for Navigraph and Simbrief, whether it's a win for simmers in the long run remains to be seen.
April 1, 20215 yr Come on guys who really believes it remains free exactly as it is today. Some part will remain free as a marketing gimmick but they wont be throwing resources at something and not getting a return on investment. I predict some currently free areas of the tool will become behind a paywall. 7900x3d , 64gb 6200mhz 30CL Ram, RTX 3080

So you enjoy being stepped on by companies? You’d probably be word not allowed if somewhere you used to park for free suddenly started charging you 5 dollars an hour or something. I guess not for the founder who invests his sparetime and work for thousands of people. Who donates anyway? Maybe 10 percent of the users?
