April 27, 20215 yr Hey guys, ive heard that limiting FPS outside of sim does a much better job. Can you please recommend which softwere should i use and values i should enter? Thanks Luka Makhviladze
April 27, 20215 yr I have tried several options like Nvidia CP, Riva Tuner but to be honest setting the Monitor rate to 30Hz and using ingame Vsync gave me the best results. I would say there is not much of a big difference between them all but i had the best feeling (maybe placebo?) using the above. April 27, 20215 yr Monitor rate to 60Hz + Vsync 30FPS + nVidia Panel for "MSFS" with the "Default parameters" which are proposed. Settings in Ultra smooth as silk!
April 27, 20215 yr Strangely, after the last Sim Update I have the least micro stutters, when I do NOT limit fps. Before limiting was better. Go figure... 🙂

April 27, 20215 yr I assume that after installing the driver, the settings are the same for everyone.
April 27, 20215 yr I am limiting FPS internally to 30 fps wile running my monitor at 60 Hz. Runs smoothly, I don't see the point of trying a different method. (A few months ago in a previous version, it stuttered heavily, though).
April 27, 20215 yr Asobo use adaptive V-sync in game, setting it to 30 will only lock to 30 fps if you use a 60hz monitor, otherwise it will try to lock at half your monitor's refresh rate if your computer can handle it, setting it to 20 will give you a lock at a third of your monitors refresh rate i think, I have my monitor running at 75hz and that give me a lock at 37-38 fps with 30fps settings. which is perfect for me. April 27, 20215 yr My monitor is 60Hz. I am running Sim VSync on and frames at 60FPS. nVidia Settings at default except the Prefer Maximum Performance option. Now with my system, I doubt I am reaching 60FPS very often, if at all but what I can say is that it is so smooth, I won’t change it. I have no idea what my FPS is as I have never tried the Developer Mode. I have zero interest in knowing if I am on 41 FPS or 46 FPS. All that matters is how smooth it appears on screen. Maybe placebo but when I originally tried locking at 30FPS, seemed less smooth than setting 60FPS. Point is, experimentation is key. No two systems or sim graphics settings are alike. Just don’t become fixated on FPS. That is not the measurement to chase. Constant smooth flow of the earth below you is all that matters. It's smoother at 60 than 30fps, especially when you change the view with the camera, but the advantage of locking at lower fps than your computer can handle is that you have reserve power available when needed as rapid changes in performance do not provide as much stuttering, especially at busy airports and big citys, but it's a personal trade-off you have to make, I myself hate stuttering and try to avoid it at all costs. April 28, 20215 yr In my case, It's smoother at 30 fps than at 60 fps and whatever the situation . 60 fps gives me mini jerks repeatedly. And I am in ultra setting with my old PC in 1440p.It's impressive smooth!

I find this very intresting becasue it should not say 60 FPS 30 FPS 20 FPS, it should say 60 FPS with 60hz , 30FPS should say =1/2 refresh rate, 20 FPS should say= 1/3 refresh rate.
